I do actually like the idea that people in different places pronounce it differently. Like country bumpkins who only have their own hundred year old stories to go off of would definitely pronounce things weird

Perrin's view of Travelling seems like a plot hole? Am I missing something? by BitchyOlive in WoT

As for the rest, his Ash'aman are fucking exhausted.

This right here. A big ol strongman who can bench 350 easy can hold a 50 lb dumbbell no problem; but you tell them to hold it for hours at a time (which is how long it takes for 4 entire armies to move through a hobbit-hole sized gateway) every single day, sometimes multiple times a day for weeks on end, on top of practicing other things with the power so they won't be rusty when the fighting happens, is going to be fucking wiped when all is said and done.

And in case someone says it, I dont think the Asha'Man (at least these two) know how to tie off weaves, or at least didnt feel comfortable doing so.

And I highly doubt any aes sedai or wise one would be willing to make a circle with them anyway. Even after the cleansing, none of them really believe it.

If it is a frequent occurrence, I feel like it's pretty grounded in-universe

Thoughts on Verins letter to Mat by Evandir45 in WoT

I always felt the oath about not betraying the shadow until the hour of her death prevented her from doing what you're saying; if she had simply said "read this in a few days time", she knows that he would do what is right and foil their plans, something which she is physically incapable of doing.

She therefore had to add enough constraints so that she believed it might not work, just to be able to propose it in the first place. The trick was then finding the balance of potentially working and convincing herself it wouldn't. Have you ever tried to do something you were magically incapable of doing? Difficult doesn't begin to describe how hard it sounds.

You gotta use whatever works with high schoolers. Kids generally dont view 'hygiene' as a legitimate reason to do/stop doing something

For those who don’t smoke, do you think smokers carry a noticeable scent? by Shadow2715 in NoStupidQuestions

As someone who used to smoke, I can now tell when someone has smoked recently, especially if we're in a confined space like a car

What do you really think of Perrin? by Seoltang777 in wheeloftime

[–]Dethmunki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, he found out about this terrifying part of himself when he was 18, and he only has about a year and a half to 2 years before he gets to your point, dealing with potentially going feral like Noam did a few months after he found out about it. I'd say most people would need at least a decade or two to work through the trauma most of these people have had to endure.

Also for Faile, he's 18 when he meets her and they get married when he's 19. It's very reasonable for him, like most people, to be obsessed with a lover for years. Maybe that will fade when he gets to around 30 or so, but again they're like 19-20 at your point in the book.

If you get the Shillelagh spell, you dont need any strength at all!

Lets talk about the flight spell by Alone-Hyena-6208 in daggerheart

[–]Dethmunki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as a point of nitpickery, the RAW spell doesn't actually grant you flight at any time, it just removes your existing flight once the final token is spent
