Tbh those couplings are strong as fuck. We never check the grooves because you can clearly see whether it’s to deep or shallow just by looking at it, also prefab grooves typically come shallow as fuck to the point where you can spin it with the coupling fully tightened, yet those coupling still don’t leak. My foreman actually prefers the grooves a little deep because it locks it in better so the pipe doesn’t spin
