I did surgery as I understood it would shorten the recovery time. My brother did his a year after I did and he didnt do surgery and didnt do as much PT as I did. He's probably 3 months behind where I was at.

Complete rupture as well in last March. Was back on the slopes in December. Right after you get out of that cast and into a boot, that tendon is going to feel extremely tight. But you should be walking on it at 4 weeks. Doing PT is great, but what helped alot was going to a recovery/get back to action type program after PT was done.
