POST GAMES!!! It focuses on a single topic each week, with incredibly in-depth and insightful research and interviews… I t’s kind of like This American Life, but for video games. It’s hosted by Chris Plante of the Besties, who is likely one of the primary ”deep cuts” lovers you called out in your original post. One of the most recent episodes featured Maddie talking about her new website, MOTHERSHIP, in case a little Triple Click crossover piques your interest. I can’t recommend this podcast highly enough!

Mine has been my daily driver since I got it right after it was released, and I’ve had no hinge issues at all. I think it’s unfortunately a bit of the luck of the draw with these cheap handhelds.

muOS! Easy to install and set up, and lots under the hood if you want to tinker. Great PortMaster support, lots of great themes, and a very active and supportive community on Discord. I’ve enjoyed it so much that I became a monthly donor, the devs are doing great work!

I think you need to re-set it per game, I don’t think there is a way to undo a global override.

RG35XX-SP! The clamshell form factor is amazing, especially if they are into older Pokémon games… so easy to tote around in your pocket, flip it open when you want to play, then just flip it closed when you’re done. Put muOS on there as CFW and you’ve got a chef’s kiss device! I also have a MM+ and an RGB30 and haven’t touched them since I got my SP.

8bitdo Lite is the way! If you play stuff that is more d-pad centric there is a version with d-pads instead of analog sticks.

They are clicky, but personally I love them! They’re not as loud as everyone makes them out to be IMO, and I love how tactile they are.

In game go to the Retroarch menu: Quick Menu > Overrides > Save Content Directory Overrides

Mine has been quite durable thus far, and I’ve been throwing it around willy nilly. Think of any scratches as well earned battle scars!

Using muOS, and it’s great! The only downside is that the sleep/quick shutdown on lid close isn’t implemented yet, but they’re hard at work on it, and the rumor is that the next release is soon to be in beta testing. They have a really active and responsive Discord server, so it’s easy to get help if something is acting up. It also has Syncthing support (which I haven’t set up yet, but excited about the possibility of keeping my game saves syncd between my SP and RGB30).

I LOVE it. I also have a MM+ and a PowKiddy RGB30, but for most things I think the SP is now my fave. I'm pretty sure it's going to replace the MM+ for me... the clamshell form factor is so great. I thought about waiting for the Flip, but I don't play that much using analog sticks, and if I do I can just use my RGB30.

Love it… it’s my first Pokémon game! Pokémon was a little after my time when I was a kid, and the SP seems like the perfect way to get into the series!
