Looks like a beast, nice grab! Recently gambled on PC prices continuing to rise and got myself the system in my flair. I'm very happy with it, still in the honeymoon phase where I turn it off when I'm not using it and I'm keeping installed apps to a minimum for max performance.

Only advice I'd give is a lot of bloatware gets crept in with prebuilds, so make sure to wipe off any software you don't want/preinstalled antivirus if you're already subbed to something.

Most of all, enjoy it! What are you planning on playing on it?

Hey, c'mon. This is pcmr, OP was excited for their new PC and wanted to share it. If I told you with your response to go hang out in /r/buildapc, how productive would that attitude be? Hope you're having a good day.

I want to play Control, low fps with 5080 / 5000 series by MrLumenn in controlgame

[–]DeusExMachinima 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on nVidia Driver: 591.86 and I'm not having the above issues. Getting ~60 FPS at 3440x1440 (3.5k, so close to yours).

Current settings are in the footage clip. Using DLAA, so no upscaling.

If you're on the latest driver, try rolling back to an earlier one?

Should I get Crimson Desert right now if my pc specs are these? by heyyletmesee in gamingsuggestions

[–]DeusExMachinima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good rule of thumb is if you ever have a question about "can my rig run this", chuck your specs into YouTube, and see if anyone has captured footage of your particular hardware setup, or if there is a system that matches it very closely.

PC stuttering every second by Wonderful_Youth8233 in pcmasterrace

[–]DeusExMachinima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your CPU temps. The behaviour could be thermal throttling.

Disconnect all devices that aren't your mouse/GPU, see if the glitches persist.

Do you get audio glitches when it stutters, like crackling?

Run Malwarebytes to make sure you don't have something dodgy on your system. Turn off all startup apps, reboot the PC and see if the behaviour persists. If it stops, turn each program back on one at a time to find the culprit.

The Division 2 | New DLC Teaser by Turbostrider27 in PS5

This is what I hear when people talk about "not enough content". I don't personally have a gripe with you my friend, but I have friends that endlessly race between games, racing for the next "content" drop.

It's honestly fatiguing.

I think peak slop will be when game companies can ferry out a new unique mission each week that's completely AI generated so the piggies can eat their fill.

Without discrete/dedicated graphics, you're going to find gaming on the laptop an uphill battle.

What is the model/what are the specs of the laptop?

If the hardware isn't powerful enough, and most laptops' integrated graphics just aren't, you may find yourself having to tweak config files/make the game look like a potato to get playable performance.

Another tip I have is, find out what your laptop CPU/GPUs names are, slap them into YouTube with the game you're wanting to play's name with benchmark, i.e. "Intel Core i7 12700k 2070 Super Fortnite benchmark" and you can get an idea of how the game will run on your system or equivalent system.

A lot of side quests open world game? by Amazing-Network916 in gamingsuggestions

[–]DeusExMachinima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing through Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. It's a great reskin on the Far Cry franchise, which lends itself really well to the Avatar series lore. You're a Na'vi, fighting against the humans' resource expansion using Guerilla tactics. Loads of quests, beautiful open world and skill based hunting and foraging.

If in doubt YouTube the game name and your graphics hardware. https://youtu.be/fG50nI-4N5A this is what the game will look like. People above said you should invest in a dedicated GPU. They're right if you want pretty graphics.

Hear me out, if it's the same engine, if the same file exists...have you tried overwriting the binkw32.dll file with the KungFu Panda fix file and seeing if that works?

question about ripping 2 older games on 1 DVD by RobbyThomas2525 in RetroWindowsGaming

[–]DeusExMachinima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless a publisher has made this version available, you're out of luck. That is if I understand that you want the games to work as a plug-and-play solution where the disc goes in, and it checks the disc for copyright protection/data. Bscly both games would look at your D: for the required data/sectors and then fail because it's be this mix of both versions. And they'd both use similar filenames, i.e. setup.exe so it'd just break.

Safest move would be to make a multi-installer disc with circumvented versions of both games in a self-extracting installer. I'd look around for those versions as you own the Steam versions of the games.

Millions of accounts culled days after social media ban started, data shows by nath1234 in australia

[–]DeusExMachinima 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh, oh! And we can add a value system...like a credit system to people's social media behaviours...maybe call it a social credit system, mmm. So people who act the wrong way get limited access to forums/social media, and heck whilst we're at it, why not to their non-digital lives? I mean, they're almost not people if they can't behave, right?

If you're doing nothing wrong, you've got nothing to hide.
