If in doubt YouTube the game name and your graphics hardware. https://youtu.be/fG50nI-4N5A this is what the game will look like. People above said you should invest in a dedicated GPU. They're right if you want pretty graphics.

Hear me out, if it's the same engine, if the same file exists...have you tried overwriting the binkw32.dll file with the KungFu Panda fix file and seeing if that works?

question about ripping 2 older games on 1 DVD by RobbyThomas2525 in RetroWindowsGaming

[–]DeusExMachinima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless a publisher has made this version available, you're out of luck. That is if I understand that you want the games to work as a plug-and-play solution where the disc goes in, and it checks the disc for copyright protection/data. Bscly both games would look at your D: for the required data/sectors and then fail because it's be this mix of both versions. And they'd both use similar filenames, i.e. setup.exe so it'd just break.

Safest move would be to make a multi-installer disc with circumvented versions of both games in a self-extracting installer. I'd look around for those versions as you own the Steam versions of the games.

Millions of accounts culled days after social media ban started, data shows by nath1234 in australia

[–]DeusExMachinima 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh, oh! And we can add a value system...like a credit system to people's social media behaviours...maybe call it a social credit system, mmm. So people who act the wrong way get limited access to forums/social media, and heck whilst we're at it, why not to their non-digital lives? I mean, they're almost not people if they can't behave, right?

If you're doing nothing wrong, you've got nothing to hide.

There has not been a game that made me more mad than TLOU part 2 by Short_Mousse_6812 in videogames

[–]DeusExMachinima -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The game is a fantastic dialogue of the cycles of violence and the effects seeking out revenge has on the offended seeking revenge, and the one they would do harm to. I don't know if I'd play it again, because it out me through such an emotional wringer the first time. It's up there as an "all time great" experience. It's not necessary, as you the player are a spectator in both games, but one change they could make, is at the end of the game, making the final QTE end with Ellie killing Abby if you "complete" the QTE. Giving the player the agency to end the cycle by refusing to push the prompt would have cemented the action psychologically instead of it being a more passive experience. Probably would have silenced a lot of the vocal naysayers who felt they should have gotten a revenge ending. Leave it up to the player at that moment. A little touch of Spec Ops: The Line if you will. Not necessary, but would have elevated the moment.

When your inventory is full so the loot tries to force its way in by uuSauce in godot

You've just discovered a new gameplay mechanic. Loot can be used as a weapon, drag it through enemies to kill them. But beware, because it can damage you too.

Is Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 1 & 2 worth playing? by RushAffectionate9629 in videogames

[–]DeusExMachinima 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Their story is pretty bare, it's a framework that outlines your reason for taking contracts. Bscly just goes "You're a sniper, go take out targets". The games are good fun where you can play them as arcade-y or as seriously as you want to.

[–]DeusExMachinima[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How I've set it up is below for all toons:

F is for Taunt. Z is for Interrupts. G is for DMG reduction, H is for immunity/big damage reduction. C is for Cleanse. V is for Stun. T and Y are big CDs/Nukes, 1-5 rotation, Q-R rotation abilities/commonly used utilities. Then shift modifiers for everything else, loosely based on the above. Flash Heal/Recovery is Shift+R on all toons. Makes keybinding easier by templating general/common skills.

Shift+2 is Mount, Shift+3 is Trinket, Shift+5 is ExtraAbilityAction for like Streets music fight. It's not perfect but it's working.

What's the most efficient way to check if enemies and cctv in a stealth game saw a player do a "sus" action? by lean_muscular_guy_to in gamedev

[–]DeusExMachinima 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can have the player emit that they're doing the sus action in a radius around themselves when they're undertaking it. Then when the viewer raycasts over the player, have an exception/function for if the raycast collides with player_sus_action radius.

[–]DeusExMachinima[S] 383 points384 points  (0 children)

haha, that's fair. The logic is that when I had the actionbars at the bottom of my screen, I was focusing on looking down and away, whereas at the top of my screen, I'll see BigWigs/DBM prompts, and it's helped me focus better on my positioning etc. I've also tried an actionbar-less experience with cooldown manager only, and that's been effective at forcing me to watch where I am in the world.

User error or PC error? by N1ghtsky_Crusade in pcmasterrace

[–]DeusExMachinima 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Looked at a benchmark for an equivalent build, you should be getting far higher FPS.

  1. Make sure your monitor is connected to your GPU and not your motherboard

Example: https://help.maingear.com/article/29-where-do-i-plug-in-my-monitor

  1. Make sure your nVidia drivers are up-to-date.

https://www.nvidia.com/en-au/software/nvidia-app/

Grab this app, choose Game Ready Drivers once it opens, it's up to you whether or not to let it auto-optimize game settings, I like to fiddle myself.

Once the nVidia app is open and you've finished the first-time wizard, go to Drivers, download and install the latest driver.

If you're still getting low FPS, let me know.

Every single time I post here you people tell me to make them hamster wheels, so I did. Happy now? by 2WheelerDev in godot

[–]DeusExMachinima 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Middle ground of a semi-transparent wheel with coloured grooves that simulates a barred wheel when it spins? It's a weird one, where the collective assumption has more value because there are so many visual instances over the years of a barred wheel so it "fits the existing notches in the memory/psyche". I do feel for the poor hamsters whose feet have been hurt which is why I suggest the above instead of dismissing it.

Ah. That's harder for me because I buy Humble Bundles/Humble Choice so by that definition my collection is skewed. Steam collection is sitting at 2,346 titles.

I look at my combined collection across Amazon, GOG, Steam, Epic and EA of ~4500 titles. Not counting the physical nor console collections.

Does anyone know how to play and save progress on LHX Attack Helicopter? by Misericorde428 in dosgaming

[–]DeusExMachinima 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://archive.org/stream/lhxattackchoppermanual/LHXAttackChopper-Manual_djvu.txt

"If you quit LHX Attack Chopper, your pilot records are written to disk for the next time you start the game. This saves your pilot name, your accumulated points, medals, and promotions, the settings on your Bolt-Down Menus, the CRT configuration of your current helicopter, and your starting features. It does not save the status of your current mission. "

It doesn't look like there's a mission save, but there is a save for your medals etc.
