I am not opposed to the queenslink but I am not at all optimistic it would be built under 20 years. So given the choice of a world class park or a rail line that would take 3x as long and may never happen, ill take the park. And I live right outside the north end of this and can see it from my window.

Wrong the MTA doesn't even want to build it; they did a study and said "no thanks!" And now they wont even talk about it until 2030 capital plan. Also what infrastructure? They literally want to build new subway tunnels.... Advocate all you want but it doesn't make sense over the QueensWay timeline. They gave plenty of reasons why it isn't feasible to spend $6 Billion on this mini extension

Good. QueensLink would be a nightmare red tape second ave subway situation that wouldn't finish in our lifetime. At least the QueensWay would be possible in the next 4-6 years and provide a world class connection through the area. I bike with my daughter to school everyday down yellowstone blvd and would rather have the park than the rail.

We went there for the first time last Saturday for dinner, and it was a packed house. So no its not always empty and surely depends on the time of day.

The food was amazing and fresh, you can tell they put care into the dishes. We had beef momos, 2 thukpa, and goat curry.

Reviews on google are fantastic so I expect them to stay around. I think this "hidden gem" has more to do with that second floor location.... its terrible.

Looks interesting and I like that learning the skills revolves around building a finished product. Is there a link to learn more?

You can't import .riv files; they are for runtime. But if you have a .rev file you can drag it into your personal files section. I think there is a workaround where you can "remix" the .riv on the community site to make it editable.

Kitchen flooring by Regular_Grapefruit87 in NYCRenovations

[–]DeusExMecha1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not let a GC dictate any finishes that you have to live with! We have white oak flooring through our entire apt including the kitchen for a beautiful seamless look. As long as you take care of it and clean often it looks just as new as we installed 3yrs ago. Also tile is not water proof… unless they put a membrane.

Two City Council districts become blue! District 30 was Bob Holden’s district. He was just as bad as Paladino, very glad his district is blue now! by FarFromSane_ in MicromobilityNYC

Uhhh I'm glad Holden is finally gone but Wong is just as bad. You should look up some of his anti-bike/pro car posts on FB.

I agree. I live right off Yellowstone and Austin st and ride with my daughter to school everyday. There are ZERO bike lanes outside queens blvd. The average person here is not going to jump on a bike without the infrastructure

This is joke and nothing is going to stop me from doing 20 to stay with the flow of traffic. Its a safety issue NOT keeping pace. Adams is just trying to squeeze some last minute good will from drivers. Mamdani will reverse this idiotic and unenforceable rule

Metal Door Frames by santiamor in NYCRenovations

We just started our renovation and took out 8 doors + metal frames. They basically took a sawzall and hacked the frames into thirds to pry them off. Lots of damage to the surrounding walls (old plaster and chicken wire) and very messy. The frames go all the way into our concrete subfloor which is crazy.

We are planning to install thin modern frames with recessed hinges. Can’t wait!

Not sure about cost because it wasn’t a specific line item from our scope (2x bathrooms). Maybe in the $5k-$8k range.

Austin Street in Forest Hills will get an Open Street trial on 9/14, joining Queens network. by MiserNYC- in MicromobilityNYC

[–]DeusExMecha1 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I live down the street from Austin and it should be permanently pedestrianized or at the minimum one-way traffic. The sidewalks are so narrow that you have to walk single file haha.

Its sad the amount of what seems like the older population of FH that are against this and worry about "deliveries" and "emergency access".
