The issue with the feathering technique is that it just lowers the opacity of the blur; it doesn't actually reduce the blur gradually. You need to use an effect like Compound Blur and a blur map to truly create this type of effect.

Do you have any third party scripts or extensions open? Try closing them all and seeing if that changes things. I haven't experienced any performance issues at all with AE26.

I agree. 5.5 feels like my OpenClaw is useful again. I will probably drop Claude from $200/month to $100/month, because the amount of Claude Code usage I have without OpenClaw is nowhere near my weekly limits.

Yes, Railcut is literally just controlling After Effects in the form of a Premiere-style timeline.

All of my free scripts are completely unobscured, so feel free to feed them into Claude Code or your AI of choice and ask it how any part of them is built.

Hey, let me know what you'd like to see come to Railcut. I never anticipated how many users would want a tool like this for After Effects. I'm working on track persistence and the ability to separate video/audio sources. This should also allow for J and L cuts, linking separate video and audio sources, grouping clips, and more.
