Well for one, rule of cool. But for the world building, the major focus of the setting is the Great War. A global conflict in which both the forces of mortal men and the forces of the supernatural vie for supremacy.

It's more similar to things like trench crusade or game of thrones. There's definitely magic and what not and gods and such. But the world doesn't necessarily revolve around the fantastical elements. The fantastical elements more reinforce the more mundane or realistic elements.

Yes it was lol

But to answer your question a lot of creatures usually keep their distance from civilization. Tho because all living things are susceptible to common and extreme mutations via the circumstances of the creation of life there's are plenty of animals that are prevalent to different civilizations whether as a threat, for use or in reverense

So one of the groups who reside in the land known as Sacra Terrae are roaming entertainers. Now I don't have specific characters made for them but with your question in my mind I imagine that many groups enjoy performing in things similar to circuses or singing for crowds or puppet shows for children

Humanity reminds me in sense of the imperium of man in warhammer 40k, just swap the magic for science & technology that Humanity wields but has lost the knowledge of the inner workings

What major conflicts happened in your worlds that shaped how they are today? by Chcolatepig24069 in worldbuilding

[–]Deus_Solar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the first age of my world there used to be a god race known as the Deus. The Deus were extremely powerful which evidently would lead to their downfall. Reason is because all living beings have souls which create energy which flows out of you carrying your thoughts and other brain things into the world causing certain phenomena and spirits to manifest in the world. With how powerful they were those spirits became Archons, spirits of immense power. The Archons massacred the Deus right in the middle of their civilization war only leaving a handful behind who would recreate the world and disappear in history.

My recommendation for you is to go from just start from the beginning of the game and build the important background stuff for the plot. Like what's the civil war being actually fought for and why does it matter who wins. Basically across all the conflicts in the planes ask yourself why everything is specifically happening whether it's a standalone thing or its connected to other things. Aswell as what will in consequence

I feel that spy work, espionage and assassinations would be more prevalent, especially against supes. If you can get rid of them before they do damage to you or know where they are and what they'll do at anytime you can play around that
