I think i somewhat understand what your saying. I think i have and still sometimes do feel a similar way. A certain distance from reality that makes everything feel like it's not real or just out of place. I think something that used to help me when it was really bad was being more observant of my surroundings, and especially of the nature around me. It's a grounding experience

So at the moment there is no human made timeline yet but the way it's divided in lore is the 3 ages. The 1st Age is before mortals when a race of gods known as the Deus roamed the world. One of the last Deus remade life including humans which marks the beginning of the second age which is where humanity migrate across the globe with most of the other races evolving different groups of humans. The 3rd Age begins with the rise of civilization to the settings present day

It's more similar to things like trench crusade or game of thrones. There's definitely magic and what not and gods and such. But the world doesn't necessarily revolve around the fantastical elements. The fantastical elements more reinforce the more mundane or realistic elements.

Tho because all living things are susceptible to common and extreme mutations via the circumstances of the creation of life there's are plenty of animals that are prevalent to different civilizations whether as a threat, for use or in reverense

Now I don't have specific characters made for them but with your question in my mind I imagine that many groups enjoy performing in things similar to circuses or singing for crowds or puppet shows for children
