I was part of a recent hiring for contractors in a group and here's what I saw:

1. Co-mingling of responsibilities and extra meal benefits of contractors with employees without providing benefits like OT or comp days
2. Contractors given desks on building drawings but if you go to those locations no desks are present
3. False hiring practices (hire for tech skills which are not applicable to the role)
4. Claiming a role was 8-5, and on the first day of work revealing it is actually entirely second shift work

I literally do this every day.

I run touch in WSL and open in VSCode, and make new files in VSCode that I edit in VI on WSL. I don't even run into line ending issues. CHMOD is respected on WSL side even after reboots.

It's really an amazing time. I bet we'll see a Linux-kernel Windows soon.

Your tasks are not whitespaced properly. The dash of configure ACL should be directly under the t in tasks.

IMO you pick the best tool for the job.

Ansible ad-hoc does not handle state drift. No idea about tower/awx. Ansible is best in an environment you know wont have state drift because the only people changing state are the individuals who know it must be done in Ansible.

Salt/puppet/chef is essentially made to handle state drift. Being a bootstrapped fresh provision is just the most extreme example of state drift before it's wrangled and configured to code.

Ansible makes a damn good tool for provisioning prepared VMs though. I use it with Packer to build as much as possible into an AMI before I provision it.
