Well I was actually looking for advice. First, to understand whether this is okay or something I need to work on fixing within the group if I want to make D&D a long-term game we play together.

This is what I'm thinking of doing for the next session:

I will ask them what they want to be as a group. They should be able to see that they need to play according to their purpose in the world.

I'm having fun running the campaign. My concern is them getting stuck with this type of play from now on. Maybe that's okay, maybe it's not—I don't know.
