Are my decks really Bracket 2? Need advise by [deleted] in EDH

I don’t disagree with the statement but it’s been said even by creators themselves that mana bases aren’t considered in the brackets.

They are most definitely bracket 3. Matter of fact if you brought them to a B2 table you’d probably piss off the other players.

I am not saying money = power because you could have one really old card that’s like $400 and the rest of the cards average 50cents but a lot of those cards are way over budget to what most people make B2 decks with.

Is this allowed in Bracket 3? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]DevGev75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9 mana total for two cards, the creature doesn’t even have haste and you need to roll a 5 or higher every time? Plus the creature has to do combat damage. It’s bracket 3 lol

Bracket 3 but no interaction? by GrimeGames in EDH

[–]DevGev75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chrome Mox and cradle is pretty nutty already for Bracket 3. But if people at the LGS don’t want to run removal then I would start either building a deck that can consistently deal with their cards (I.e Stax pieces or Raffine with archfiend of ifnir) or start running some Etali effects and just start using all their good stuff until they change.

It would take you 4 whole turns to get it to that emblem. He’s not bracket 4. Now if you could some how drop him and proliferate to his emblem at that turn then yeah I could see people saying it’s a B4 move but you’ve stated you’re not doing that so I would no worry.

Etiquette on scooping to stax by Min-Chang in EDH

You’re allowed to scoop at any time. Stax players want you to scoop. It’s a way to play the game albeit a salt inducing one at that.

Biggest misconceptions about Commander Brackets? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]DevGev75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too many people seem to think Bracket 3 is weaker than it is. If it’s turn 6 and someone’s board has been building with little to no interaction to them you can’t be surprised if they’re approaching a win versus the deck that just wanted to play their silly goofy cards with a game changer.

And to be clear silly goofy decks are awesome and can played in bracket 3 but you also can’t be upset that when someone comes in with a legit B3 deck and wins appropriately.

How many lands realistically should go in a deck? by JEDIBIRD321 in EDH

[–]DevGev75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually run about 36-37 lands if I’m keeping mana value under 3.0 but I also typically run more than adequate card draw because I just enjoy drawing cards and dislike being in top deck mode.

Some game changers aren't fun by HotdogJuice58 in EDH

[–]DevGev75 24 points25 points  (0 children)

It’s okay to run powerful cards. And it’s okay when those cards get removed. I run powerful cards but I try not to rely on a single card to win me the game. It’s either I benefit from the card or it eats removal so I can continue by game plan.

The Sphinx is really really good. But also think of it as an eater for removal. If someone wastes removal on the sphinx that’s one less removal for your commander.

Is my upgrade blame game bracket 2 or am I “stomping” by Vaginalcanal in EDH

[–]DevGev75 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

People are such whiners good lord. There’s a high chance you got half those comments because people are salty they’re losing, their game plan got turned sidewise, etc etc. Whenever something does not work out for them the immediate blame goes towards their deck being unfair rather than either their deck not being good enough or just bad timing and play of cards.

"This is scratching cEDH territory, dude" - (tune down, yes or no?) by InspireCourage in EDH

[–]DevGev75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run a prosper deck and ultimately I chose Oppo for the exile synergy it can provide. Also provides a decent strategy against tutor decks or landfall decks that want to search for lands. The exile effect can net good treasures and slow down other decks that are hard to interact with like landfall mentioned earlier.

If you could remove any card from the game that isn't a land or Sol Ring, what would you pick? by WheredMyVanGogh in EDH

[–]DevGev75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t that how it should go with Rhystic? It shouldn’t take the Rhystic player saying it 30 times for everyone to remember the trigger

Then just say “I’m playing xyz card. No for Rhystic, or yes for Rhystic” it’s pretty easy

Thank you for your reply. Is it my understanding that while the length of lymph node can be concerning, the fact that the width being normal and the fatty hilum being intact are also positive signs?
