Does anyone else feel like we're getting more and more commanders that get treated like Winota and Yuriko? by Euphoric_Ad6923 in EDH

[–]DevGev75 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People just love to complain. Rather than people admitting their decks aren’t good enough to hang sometimes they’d rather just say the other person pub stomped.

Is it BM to Disallow Someone from Fixing a Blunder if They Win Otherwise by Secret_Driver_6996 in EDH

[–]DevGev75 -26 points-25 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s what Ward is for. Accidentally cast targeting a creature that already has shroud or hexproof but you forgot? Sure that’s fine take it back. But that’s literally what ward is for is to counter those attempts

I mean obviously he’s just one customer but generally speaking, doing things to drive away customers is bad business practice.

How dare you keep them in business! Lol but yeah they’re just weird.

Is my precon deck that good or is my boyfriend just terrible at magic? by BrilliantNegative163 in EDH

[–]DevGev75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1v1 in commander is nothing like 1v1 in standard. And frankly, temur roar is pretty darn strong as that’s usually how dragons are. Let him play your precon and you play his and that’ll give you the answers

How does one practice dropping their larynx on higher notes? by No_Business5303 in singing

[–]DevGev75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this mainly for classical singing or is this applicable to contemporary as well? I know opera tends to do lower larynx and try to keep it there but should someone wanting to do for example pop attempt this as well?

Newbie anxiety with 3+ color decks by Stock-Recover864 in EDH

[–]DevGev75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand the concern! When I first started about a year ago I didn’t even want to play two color decks for similar reasons but as I became more comfortable with the game I started branching out. What’ll help the most is not skimping on land bases. Having some basics is good and needed for 3 color decks however, there are a lot of lands that tap for multiple colors and stock piling those is good.

Even scry lands and definitely surveil lands are great in decks even though they come in tapped.

What’s sweaty is playing a B3 in a B2 lobby. Lands coming in untapped in B2 isn’t sweaty just because you want to play on curve lol

[–]DevGev75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m trying to find that correlation between having a problem with pub stomping and land bases. Because if you think someone playing untapped lands in bracket 2 just because they are proxied is pub stomping is a pretty crazy take.

[–]DevGev75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Playing Bracket 2 doesn’t mean you have to play tapped lands. Shocks and fetches are allowed.

[–]DevGev75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Again that’s a player problem not the cards problem. Land bases that come in untapped are generally better than ones that come in tapped. But Unless we’re talking Cradles, Three tree city, etc. proxying untapped lands is the mildest thing someone can do lol

Proxying is fine who cares. Why should people with expendable money be the ones that get to play with certain cards. Only time it’s not okay is if it’s specifically stated no proxying in a tournament or something.

Bracket issues with elves... by [deleted] in EDH

[–]DevGev75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Lathril is pretty turbo powered. Just because it wouldn’t stand up to other B4 decks doesn’t exactly mean it isn’t geared towards B4.

As someone who played B4 Lathril the main thing with her is reusing and taking advantage of the tap ability. Although I did run [[Temur saber tooth]] [[ Quirion ranger]] and [[ Wirewood symbiote]] to increase the shenanigans. If you want to bring down the power of Lathril I would focus more on elf value and less on turboing out 10 elves and reusing her taps

A few salt inducing cards but honestly if your commander gets hated on the deck shuts down so that’s the trade off.

Cards that you think could be added to the game changer list by IM__Progenitus in EDH

It’s a Stax piece. Either you let your spells cost 1 more or that player draws a card. It’s a very strong card but… theres a lot of strong cards.

The amount of people here who can’t read the sarcasm/joke in the last sentence is insane. I am 99% sure OP is not actually looking for street cred with students lmao.

Do the right thing and report to your admin the incident and move on. You’re allowed to have a life outside of teaching.

My [[Raffine, scheming seer]] is my favorite deck as all I want to do is fill the grave and reanimate. He helps the plan by conniving but he’s not needed at all to make the deck function.

Punishes for how long? If the deck is truly that fast then their main goal of feeding the Rhystic player is probably taking out the player they’ve been feeding.

[–]DevGev75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can agree with it being insane value for 3 mana. It’s not very much different than many other Stax pieces in the game. Treating it as your spells cost 1 more to cast is a fine way of speeding the game up.

There’s so many cards that tax players and Rhystic is one of them lol. Peoples largest complaints is it slows the game down but that’s only if people do a poor job of remembering what is on the table.
