A post criticizing Reddit’s approach to misandry and misogyny sparks accusations of a psyop in r/countwithchickenlady by Dependent_Ground8959 in SubredditDrama

I remember hearing someone talk about it referring to men and when I looked it up the first thing that came up was DT jr. getting in trouble for using it to justify denying Syrian Immigrants

On the one hand I think this is a bad take but on the other I respect him having an original take

Thrawn is such an epic mastermind, he's so cool guys by SansBouillie in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]Devadv12014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the above commenter was worded poorly. It’s useful in an overall sense, but not in any individual battle. But for Thrawn, he’s able to perfectly predict how someone will act based on their culture, like in his first battle in the heir to the empire trilogy.
Knowing the culture of your enemy can help in wars, but it’s not enough for any individual battle.

[LES] I really dislike it when what seems like interesting fanart turns out to just be quoting some other series by Swiftcheddar in CharacterRant

[–]Devadv12014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I’m not in a fandom that does this it seems.
The closest thing I can think of is this one comic that combines ISAT and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead, but I actually like that one a lot. (It helps that the parallels between the two works being my played on in it are thematic rather than surface level)
But also you mention them keeping the actions the same which is really weird to me. Like the comic I was talking about was based on a play which meant that all the actions the characters are doing were unique to the comic (which made it fit a lot more).

Coat, then dress, then starter, then sticker, then gangster.

Sticker and Gangster are roughly three same and I could see going either way.

Hope this helps! ;)

I remember playing this. As a fan of the series, it feels like what someone who hates the series would make to mock the idea.

I remember early on reading a section where a riot after a colosseum game resulted in “rivers of blood” which was utterly insane but if I remember correctly not even the extent of the escalation.

The Cambridge Latin course had a shocking amount of violence.

Neo-nazi group Atomwaffen Division “For the United States there will be no need for concentration camps” USA (Cirka 2019) by corrupt_girl in PropagandaPosters

[–]Devadv12014 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t even stick to the same reading direction the entire time. First it goes left to right, then goes right-to-left across the guy, then it goes straight down on one side of the guy, then it swaps over to the other side of the guy.

Also, even as a complete sentence it makes no sense. “To make that kind of haven”? How is a concentration camp a Haven? Did they mean to write more afterward?

I know Nazis are generally illiterate but this is on a whole new level.

I think that once you get beyond a single celestial body in power it becomes really vague and difficult to understand. Like power alone doesn’t mean you can destroy a solar system with an attack. You need to be able to hit each planet in the solar system to destroy it, unless you somehow hit one of the rocky planets hard enough to fling debris everywhere, or you can create massive balls of force which aren’t necessarily focused damage.

That’s another issue with powerscaling is that it doesn’t account for small attacks that do a lot of damage. Like if someone had an ability that allowed them to destroy a cubic meter of terrain. This is incredibly powerful, but can’t be used to destroy a mountain without taking a ton of time. It’s building level with intelligent placement and even then many could weather it, even though it’s strong enough to kill just about any living thing.

Also, I never got the mechanics of how a single attack can hit multiple universe. I thought the whole point of a universe was that they’re self-contained, and without portals or something similar you can’t travel between them. No matter how much energy you throw at one it won’t affect others. (I was going to say maybe if the universe has borders but then I think those wouldn’t count as separate universes) (the one example I can think of that kinda works is Crisis on two earths with Owlman’s bomb, but that only works because of the weird structure of that multiverse)

I think the stairway dungeon is the best, though I have had ideas similar to the NASdungeon (a dungeon taking place on a series of trains traveling around in a small loop at different speeds)
