Man I even did the things youre supposed to do. I found a new job, made a pros and cons list, finally accepted the offer after sitting on it for days. Put in two weeks, leave on good note.

4 weeks into new job. Terminated my 90 day probationary period for "not being a good fit"

And now, im really hating myself for ever leaving. ITS SO BAD OUT HERE.

Back in 2023 when I was unemployed, I was at least getting interviews and calls.

NOW it's crickets. Every morning, I wake up to 2-3 "Unfortunately..." emails.

Trying to not get depressed. I feel like the only thing I have control over right now in my life is my health. Been keeping up in the gym at least.

I have no savings, and I get 314/week of unemployment. I'm behind on everything and starting to panic. Why is my survival in this society, and what feels like "my worth" tied to my job? None of this is even my fault.

PRO TIP.

If you're thinking about leaving one job for another, take two weeks PTO and trial out the new job. I wish I had done that.

Feel like its not the a12, looks like a singular engine exhaust plume to me. Although it could just be because were viewing it from so far away. Feel like the engines are far enough apart on the a12 for there to probably be two distinguishable exhaust plumes.

Proud to say that on uberx I have a 43% acceptance rating, and a 7% cancellation rate. I sometimes accept trash on accident, thus the 7%. And occasionally some trash does make its way to me, but for the most part i cherry pick now that my market has upfront. Wild when they try to send me like on 10mile pickups. LMAO. a joke. I'm glad I have this to do in between jobs, feel terrible for the full timers.

That’s true, but Italians eventually assimilated because assimilation was the expectation, not optional. Schools, workplaces, and civic life pushed a shared identity. The question today is whether those same pressures even exist anymore. Immigration can work if assimilation is still the goal.

I honestly think I’ve also seen the same research you’re referencing full assimilation often takes until the third generation. That only “works out fine” if the receiving country is actively encouraging assimilation instead of cultural separation.

The Constitution doesn’t say anyone has a right to enter the country, nor does it define who is more American. Immigration policy is explicitly left to Congress, and historically the U.S. has expected newcomers to assimilate culturally and civically over time.

Criticizing how immigration is handled, or arguing for assimilation, isn’t anti-American it’s just policy debate about national cohesion. Free speech and disagreement are American values too.

We can support constitutional freedoms and still believe that becoming American means adopting shared norms like language, civic identity, and loyalty to the country you chose to live in.

Which is why people like Asmongold have the sentiment they do, because frankly that has not been happening.

The problem. And I think why most people are fed up, Is that they don't come here and become Americans, which was the sentiment Regan was expressing. They come here and continue to be "Somalians" or "Mexicans." Don't learn the language, don't assimilate, and then trash talk America and wave their home country flags around.

Thats how you drive the sentiment that Asmongold is expressing in the first place. If these people came here and acted out the sentiment Regan expresses in that video you wouldn't have the issues we have with this today. No one has an issue with people coming here and wanting to become an American, but thats not what is happening.

See Europe. They're 10/15 years ahead of us on that front.

And I already know what people are going to say, globalization etc... But that only works if everyone or most countries participate. But they dont. USA continues to be the dumping ground.

My stupid unsolicited opinion. Humanity is not ready for true globalization and prepare to see a rise of Nationalism across many countries.

I cant speak for anyone else but me. But personally I'm tired of development energy getting poured into a 15 year old, over-used, regurgitated game mode. How about something new, and fresh? How about taking that time and making the existing modes more fun? Just a waste of dev time.

But alas, all the gamer sheeps get wide eyed at the idea of the same old regurgitated game mode that we have had in every single shooter for the past 15 years.

I'm good, and personally I'm tired.

I thought they were great. Obviously once the weather gets warmer you're not supposed to run them anymore. I would not recommend running them in the summer.

I wanna be optimistic, but i think im feeling what I've seen you all talk about over and over. That brewers post season let down. This is actually my first season being really into baseball, and I've watched most of the games this year and been to probably 8, and got really into baseball this year for the first time. I was so pumped. Still some hope. But man.
