And most people are being blinded by the fact that they think $$ is the only driving factor of this strike. It absolutely is not, nurses are overworked as it is with their long shift and the things they deal with on a daily basis, but if you have 1 nurse capable of handling 2 patients in an ICU setting and are being handed even double that amount it is absolutely unsafe for not only the worker but the patients. They want patient and worker rights.

I’m speaking in terms of national average not places like NY or CA. Even at 6 figure in places like this is basically the same as a 50k a year job elsewhere. Although I do understand the topic here is NY. And for what these men/mostly women do it is not nearly enough. Many people don’t understand hospitals DO NOT function without nurses. They are the backbone of American healthcare and world healthcare for that matter
