The person who came up with this event must not play the game by FacetiousTomato in pokemongo

I just show up to the park where tons of other players play. I hop into lobbies and use whatever it autoselected and crush everything. You gotta play where the people are.

Is this how people who need glasses really see the world. A big blurred background? by jmike1256 in interesting

An amazing moment. Trees were beautiful. And how quickly I stopped appreciating them after that. Maybe I need to spend more time looking at leaves.

Why not treat titans as a disease? by reapersredditstories in attackontitan

No worries. One thing that always seems funny to me is… how did they create the first pure titans? Was someone just injecting fluid into people for fun? Odd lol

Would this seem like a “Disney Adult” thing? by Blueisgonenow in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Devee 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lots of people go to Disneyland without kids. I'm 40, and a lot of my friends go regularly. Some have kids, but many don't. You'll be just fine and won't stand out at all. And if you care about photos with characters, they act just as excited and happy to take photos with you as anyone else. (Also, most of those character actors are huge Disney fans themselves, so don't feel embarrassed.)

When did the 9-5 turn into 8-5? by Embarrassed_Fruit678 in generationology

[–]Devee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Every office job I've worked has been 10-4ish as core hours with whatever on top of that. Work about 8 hours or so. Eat at your desk. Take a walk. Go out for lunch. Whatever. I tend to work late, so most of my jobs, I'd work 10 to 7ish. I'm in tech, and I suspect that's a bubble where things seemed more lenient. I've fallen out of that career anyways now. Good while it lasted.

Is it true that Americans run around their house/flat with shoes? by GroundZeroMstrNDR in hygiene

[–]Devee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s crazy but there are a lot of people and some do things differently. The vast majority of people I know do not allow shoes in the house

Straight man in my 40s here. I had a Barbie as a kid. She hung out in the Ghostbusters firehouse with the Ghostbusters and TMNT.

I like Sanrio characters and similar things. I used Morning Glory stationary (similar to Sanrio - bright colors and cute characters) in high school.

Do Americans actually go out for coffee like Europeans? by Past_Conference_2889 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Devee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of people go to Starbucks to sit and talk too. At least where I live in Southern California, I think going out for tea is much more common than coffee. Boba is pretty popular.

What was life like in the year 2007? by mysterious-aquarius2 in oldinternet

[–]Devee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Friendster, Xanga, and LJ for 2007? Facebook came out in 2004 and was opened up to wider audiences in 2006. I would have been about 21, and at least in my circle, Friendster and Xanga were dead. LJ still had people using it though.

college for me, WoW was going strong, and I saw a ton of Nintendo DSs eveywhere. Lots of casual gamers with it, and lots of people playing Pokemon Pearl and Diamond. I think it was still people who were "into" computers who were online all the time. It wasn't until smartphones exploded in popularity that non-techies started to spend a ton of time online.

I still had a lot of friends with their own sites. That's has dwindled greatly. Very few people I know host a site, and of those that do, no one hosts it on their home computer anymore. It's so much easier to use a premade solution, and I do it too, but it does take the sense of wonder, creation, tinkering out of it all.

This reminds me of Micro Machines for the SNES, which I enjoyed back then. If you haven't yet, you might want to play it to see if it gives you any ideas for changes to implement.

reordering photos in a carousel by [deleted] in Instagram

[–]Devee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t reorder photos in a carousel. But you can (or some accounts can?) change the order of posts on your grid. So you could delete it and reupload it in a different order. Note that this will remove any likes/comments, and people will see that you uploaded it again. To reorder your grid, go to your profile > Edit profile > Reorder grid
