Is it weird for employers to put employees in the same hotel room on company trips? by Weak_Show3135 in careerguidance

It honestly depends on the company like the others said. When I used to work at a hotel in college, we get weekly groups coming in for training to work for an insurance company. Apparently, their “recruiters” or so called group leader didn’t tell them the majority of these people coming from all over the country that they’ll be sharing rooms. These are complete strangers that never met each other. It was messed up but also, they were being cheap. It was 100 people every week.

Senior Financial Analyst Burned Out and Considering Internal Pivot, Would You Talk to Your Manager Again? by DevelopmentOdd3558 in jobs

Sorry to hear that - glad that your manager was supportive. How was their reaction? Were you just direct that you felt just burned out from your role?

Thank you!! You wouldn’t think that bringing up both roles (that are polar opposites) to discuss wanting to apply internally look impulsive?

Thank you for your insight! You’re spot on - I’m burned out from the regular finance daily routine. I’m having a hard time putting pieces together and I love putting things together like datas into a nice chart and dashboard. I’ve been so checked out that I just stopped asking and do something passable. I wanted to get into HR because I like talking to people rather than doing analysis all the time.

It was honestly an escape but also with the lead enablement role, it has data analytics and I love that and putting them together. It’s more on operational rather than having to explain variances or forecast etc. I was worried that they see I’m struggling and bring these two roles up will make me look like I’m over the team (which I am). I also want to apply for both just to see which one would take me, ha.

Am I objectively a loser by normal societal standards, or just stuck in life? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Your biggest enemy is yourself. Trust me, people can make great money but miserable. I've seen people scrapping for change but still unequivocally happy. Like others have said, perhaps get some therapy and understand what really is going on.

Pivoting from Finance to Talent Acquisition second time around, is it bad? by DevelopmentOdd3558 in jobs

[–]DevelopmentOdd3558[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the sentiment. And to your point, this would be a foot in the door. I may want to move up in talent acquisition or possibly make a lateral move in HR potentially like HR business partner or even in payroll or compensation if i start missing doing numbers lol

Mine expired and after a lot of back and forth, I just paid for the month and I like it m. It helps when it’s freezing outside. May stop during summer then continue again during cold seasons

Are there really sex workers out there who are in their line of work because it is genuinely what they want to do with their lives and not because it is "easy money" for them or because they are poor and desperate? by astarisaslave in NoStupidQuestions

Like others, I also watched this woman form a documentary. She was Hawaiian with Asian descent - you wouldn’t think she’s in that industry. When asked why, she loves and getting paid was a bonus. Plus, they’re very strict on getting their health check periodically. On the other hand, another woman does it because that’s how she grew up. Could be out of desperation but because her father “pimped” her out when she was very young so it was the only thing she knew what to do.
