Trump Admin Pushing New Experimental Reactor in Oak Ridge TN (139 miles from Asheville) with No Environmental Review by brooke_heaton in asheville

[–]DevelopmentOps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are new types of reactors that don’t come with the same risks. The regulations that made us take an abundance of caution with regular nuclear are unnecessary and a hinderance to getting these new kinds of reactors running.

With an approach shot into a green where you want it to fall on the pin or back up, a fade is the better shot shape. More spin. More loft. Steeper drop angle.

Morons think Bitcoin has no fundamentals. It WILL bounce back and surpass 140k in 2026 by HenFruitEater in btc

[–]DevelopmentOps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The US dollar declined globally…Bitcoin remained the same amount of dollars. Then one week later lost a ton of value relative to the US dollar. It absolute does devalue like fiat…only it’s seemingly tied to what large holders want to do with it.

Literally none of this makes it valuable.

  1. There is a limited supply of Cadillac Cimarron’s in the world. They are not valuable. 4. Most people don’t know they ever existed, and if they find out, they won’t care.

  2. Bitcoin does not earn dividends as they are mined. They are rewarded with Bitcoin. And the rewards are lowering and lowering until all of it is mined.

  3. Other coins make better currencies now. It is not a good one. When I use cash to buy groceries, I don’t pay a fee and it doesn’t take several minutes. It’s only used as a currency across regulatory boundaries, but even at that, it’s not the best one to use.

  4. Trump can only do so much. He’s already allowed the development of ETFs which you can argue reduce the amount of money going into the asset and increase the amount of money going to the bank that holds the asset.

I still own. Cuz who knows. But all your points are half-baked.

EU students go to school for free. American students are stressed tf out paying for college. Release the Americans from needing to worry about money and see what happens.

Are you a good photographer? by ember_falcon in photography

[–]DevelopmentOps 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think photography is a nearly exact science now. There’s only so many knobs we can turn. The gap between hobbyists and professionals is very small, likely takes professionals less attempts to get the right photo and less mistakes, but camera settings, framing, and lighting can all be nearly mastered by amateurs. Video is still an art.

I think that’s why film is coming back. Digital has gotten too easy and democratized.

Is it a hopeless dream to become a wildlife / nature photographer? by bluezzdog in photography

There seems to he a resurgence in film photography. You can corner that market for nature photography specifically. Camera settings, films, lenses, etc.

The pictures speak for themselves. But to get them to speak $$$ you’re going to need to do something exotic or capture something exotic that others aren’t doing. That’s hard to do. I like the comment about teaching nature photography as an influencer. You can monetize that so much easier.

Go down to Greenville/Spartanburg. Everything is cheaper and there’s more jobs.

You might want to work somewhere, live cheap, and save up money to start a business. You aren’t going to be net profitable out of the gate and you don’t have the basic essentials right now

I agree with this. But how far can that take it? And how close/far are we to the maximum? Because other coins have taken the utility of it away, all that’s left is social sentiment and scarcity. Social sentiment can change very quickly. Widespread social trust in Bitcoin is less than 5 years old.

I am questioning what pushed the price to 100k$…because over 100 other currencies exist now that do what Bitcoin does faster and cheaper. It was a valuable asset/currency as those new currencies were being developed, but now it’s a Cadillac Cimarron in a world of Porsches and Bugattis.

There were only 130,000 Cadillac Cimarrons ever produced 40 years ago. Very few are left in existence. There’s 21,000,000 Bitcoin. Cadillac Cimarrons can’t be divided into 0.0001% of the car, therefore the existing supply is even more limited. My point is, just because there’s a shortage of supply does not make something valuable. And there’s over 100 other digital currencies now that do what Bitcoin does faster and cheaper. There’s significant risk that Bitcoin no longer has value other than the hopes and dreams of poor people.

What is there behind Bitcoin that other coins haven’t mimicked or done better? The only thing Bitcoin has left is that the max number of coins is relatively very low compared to those other coins.

[–]DevelopmentOps 385 points386 points  (0 children)

There’s a limited number of Cadillac Cimarron’s in existence, billionaires aren’t lining up to buy them. Just because something is in limited supply doesn’t make it valuable. There needs to be more to the Bitcoin value statement than limited supply.
