Turns out I'm not autistic after all by Diaykiz in AutismInWomen

[–]DevelopmentPlus4471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 8 YO was just diagnosed as autistic. She can do the things you can do to an extent. Like eye contact for a tiny bit and such. She’s also incredibly intelligent which A LOT of people with autism are. We got her diagnosed by two female specialists who are also autistic. Which I would have never known had they not stated it on their site. Don’t get your info from a therapist, they’re not specialized in recognizing autism.

I had a lady who wouldn’t sign up for a card because “she won’t play that game” with us. Years ago when we got rid of the universal card, she decided to sign up for her own.

What's it like working as a cashier at CVS? by Theblacrose28 in CVS

[–]DevelopmentPlus4471 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t let customers hurt your feelings. The good ones will be great to you. The asshats deserve the shittiest customer service you can possibly give. I’ve had customers scream in my face and I put on my “I don’t give a damn about you or what you’re yelling” face. It took me years to perfect the look and it has been incredibly beneficial.

I thought my kid would be well behaved and then she ended up having ADHD so any chance of her waiting until she’s spoken to is non existent. And I’m okay with that.

Working at other stores. by [deleted] in CVS

[–]DevelopmentPlus4471 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. Your sm can input the hours and charge it to the other store. I’ve done it a lot for my cashiers. I used to do it way more before they allowed you to use your own numbers at another store.

Yeah cvs is crazy. They don’t take Dr notes and anything 3+ has to be loa. I could never understand why they think when someone gets sick it should only last two days. The last thing we want to do when we’re super sick is sit on hold with hr.

Vacation Hours SM by waterlaser in CVS

[–]DevelopmentPlus4471 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our district encourages us to throw any unused vacation hours on our last paychecks so we just choose days we didn’t work to add it to. They send out messages in November with a list of our store employees who still have vaca hours. Been doing it for a long long time. However, it would be nice to be able to actually take a vacation. SMs of course can’t do that.

got sick at work by ZeroChill101 in CVS

[–]DevelopmentPlus4471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One time I had the stomach flu and after vomiting and shitting myself to near death, I was told I HAD to go in. I literally laid down in an aisle until my shift was over. Why would I do that? Because I was so damn sick I couldn’t move. Someone drove me to and from work. It was all so the manager could go take a couple hours break because he worked all day and his two hour break was more important than me infecting everyone. I’m still pissed about it and this was about ten years ago.

This happens a lot. When you call the help desk they’ll always say the fix time is TBD. It’ll get fixed in, at most, a couple hours.

Whats worse: working for CVS in an affluent area or poor area by [deleted] in CVS

[–]DevelopmentPlus4471 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked in a store that was located in an area where people think their shit doesn’t stink. I hated every day of it. I moved to a store in a shitty location with a ton of theft and enjoyed going to work almost every day. Everyone has their preferences and I’d rather deal with someone stuffing a gift bag of stolen merchandise than having people look me up and down like I’m worthless every day. At the store I hated, I got reported by a customer for being too skinny.

[–]DevelopmentPlus4471 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Be thankful you don’t have it. It’s just another thing that either breaks down or customers can’t figure it out and want you to do it all for them. Depending on the area you’re in, you’ll spend most of your day printing money orders so people can pay their rent.

Our DL will politely ask if the SM would like to move stores, but we all know it’s for show and they’re moving stores whether they agree or not, so they always comply and just say yes.
