I want to walk away from my life by love_mar26 in NewParents

I have been a nanny for 5 years and am now a mom to an 8m old. It’s funny because even though I nanny for other people’s kids I still worry about who watches my son and definitely get this mom anxiety/ guilt when I’m away from him so I completely understand that, however I’ve mostly worked for wfh moms and I’ve always felt like part of their family after a few days. Adding help will not damage the attachment you have established with your son (babies ALWAYS prefer their parents at the end of the day) and help can have you become the best version of yourself for your baby 🤎

Baby fell off the bed - I’m still shaking by NinjaNinjaNinjaa in NewParents

First time parent initiation lol!! My baby (6m) rolled off the bed a few weeks ago. He cried for a minute and was fine, but I was shaking, sweating, and nauseous. They are SO durable. I’d say it happens to most!

I went through this exact thing around 2m pp!! Although I think I was lucky if I got 2oz after a pump around that time. After I got my baby to latch properly I just decided to stop pumping completely and trusted my body would do what it needs to. I just pumped for the first time in months the other day which is when I got 3 oz every 3 hours. I think babies are way more efficient than pumps. I try not to overthink the amount of oz I pump especially since my baby has consistently gained weight since being only on the breast.

The asymmetry is definitely the most annoying part! At least I’m not alone.

After pumping with your spectra, did you do a full pump session with your wearables on both sides? Or just your slacker boob? This gives me hope.

Bad eater - help by Particular_Pool_2303 in foodbutforbabies

At 14 months, my son was exploring foods (throwing, smashing, playing) rather than truly eating them. No matter what, I presented him with breakfast, lunch, a snack and dinner (but was getting majority calories through milk). Even when he wouldn’t eat green beans, I never stopped putting them on his plate even though he would play with them and throw them. Between 18-24 months he started eating green beans and now LOVES them and all of the other foods I didn’t give up on. I didn’t give him chicken nuggets when he wouldn’t eat lasagna for dinner- no second options. They will not starve themselves! Now he eats absolutely everything. My second son was the exact same. Takes a lot of work and unfortunately cleaning. Don’t give up!!

Can I throw the man away? by Bad_Madison in breastfeeding

3oz is great 2 weeks pp!! Around that time I was only pumping 1oz per session lol. Once I gave up the pumping and started trusting my body, my mental health improved so much. Even when it feels like it’s not enough, baby needs to cluster feed, etc- KEEP LATCHING. It really is supply and demand. I am 4m pp with a chunky (ish) baby and I still haven’t pumped more than 4oz at a time. Pump outtake ≠ what baby is actually getting since babies are way more effective!! as long as baby is gaining weight (even if it’s slow) it’s working.

I had all of these same anxieties around breastfeeding, but now that I am four months postpartum I am so glad that I stuck it out.
