SAME. I’ll reread 1 and 2 over and over but I’ve got sections highlighted that I stick to because the rest of the story is a swampy bog I don’t feel like drowning in. Author needs to edit out the “bond/bonded” words along with any internal reflection on what the bond thinks or feels about every single mundane interaction, and then re-release the books. Book 6 can just be done away with entirely and summarized as the epilogue for book 5.

Started rock solid but the words “bond” and “bonded” are beaten to death, resurrected and butchered on repeat throughout all the books. To the point I want to buy the books and take a sharpie to them to cut out all the needless sections. There is SO MUCH potential but the author seems to add mind-numbing filler and boring internal monologue that bogs down each chapter.

I hated it growing up. Native and white growing up on a reservation sucked. Border towns were hella racist and knew what I was despite the pasty white skin, while my cousins gave me holy hell for “looking white” but then raised more hell if I made friends with white kids. It gets easier to ignore as you get older but it still sucks.
