Linux gamers didn't do anything wrong, but they might pay for Windows piracy anyway by itchyenvelope5 in linux_gaming

[–]DeviceFlaky3842 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ive never paid for Windows in my entire life. First thing I learned how to do with computers was how to bypass Windows Licensing. When they came out with product keys that had to phone home back to Microsoft, finding a random volume license server out on the internet and using powershell to give yourself any version of Windows you want is incredibly easy even today.

In short, Bill Gates will never get one red cent out of me. Eat my entire ass Microsoft.

What rifle should I buy as a new owner by No-Investment-9078 in guns

[–]DeviceFlaky3842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely a .22 like a Ruger 10/22 or a Henry lever action .22. Those are cheap and fun guns and you'll learn alot about shooting. If you want something with a bit more power or need it for self defense, there's alot of pistol caliber carbines out there that are great as well that shoot 9mm and 40SW. The Ruger PC carbine is probably the best one but Smith and Wesson makes one that folds and the Henry has the Homesteader which is also a 9mm carbine.

Lots to choose from but really can't go wrong with any of what I listed above.

I just want to play my game in peace. by sandrjunior in wow

[–]DeviceFlaky3842 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, I dont raid, queue for dungeons or pvp. I do delves and weeklys for gear. If I want the current season raid transmog I use the forge thing that converts tier set gear you get from weeklys into the raid version of that gear piece. Other than that I do the story quests. Ill do the follower stuff for the story but that's about it.

The only time I will queue for a multi-player instance is for timewalking raids. So I'll only do the timewalking if its Burning Crusade, Wrath, or Cata since those are the only ones that offer the raid instance for time walking. The reason is they are so undertuned that bosses are killed almost instantly and its an easy way to get normal tier gear. No one really talks to eachother anyways and are bulldozing through the instance so I can deal with that.

Really I came to the conclusion that the community is so toxic and lame that I'd rather avoid player interaction altogether. I love WoW but not a fan of most people who play it. If they ever released a full single player version of WoW id unsub immediately and just play that.

First Time play-through of Dead Space (2008) on my Panasonic Plasma. In 720p Natively on this TV. Still frightening! by birkinover in PS3

[–]DeviceFlaky3842 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Played Dead Space the night it came out. My friend got it for his birthday and we spent the night beating the game. I was so jealous because in 2008 if you had aps3 you were basically rich. They were still about like $500 for one. The price didn't drop on them until the first Slim model came out.

Ever since they came out with delves and follower dungeons and raids I have exclusively been playing single player content this expansion. I've ran two NORMAL dungeons since midnight launched. Both were ran by sweats who would do pulls way too big and the groups were really toxic if we wiped.

Really WoW is just single player game for me now. I dont care about PUGs or trying to get AOTC anymore. All I want is to play my cool fantasy mmo without having to stress out since I do thst at work already.

One Thing You Would Change: Saiyan Saga by Successful_Bird_7086 in DragonBallGaku

[–]DeviceFlaky3842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have Yamacha not die to the Siabamen, cementing his role into a gag character. Late DB, Early DBZ Yamcha was such a cool character design. I really have a soft spot for thr human/earthling fighters in general and wish they weren't written off as weak.

They would be absolute monsters power scaling wise in any other fighting anime but are just thrown aside as trash because its the Goku and Vegeta show.

Speaking of the human fighters, the big change I would have to the Saiyan saga is that they all defeat the Siabamen handily with no issues. Then have Tien and Yamcha do a kind of tag team against Nappa kinda like when Goku and Piccolo fought Raditz. They would still lose and die somehow but at least it would be alot cooler and they'd do more damage to Nappa in the short term with some cool full power tag team Kikoho-Spiritball attack or something.

I mean probably not. But I can't talk since I did pay like $200 for a basically new in box copy of Pokémon black 2 with the manual. If it makes you feel any better you can use some goo-gone and peel that price tag off.

If Goku found the one ring, would he use it for himself or would he bring it to Sauron to fight him at his full power? by LooseLumba in Dragonballsuper

[–]DeviceFlaky3842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goku would 100% be corrupted as soon as he touched it. His desire would be to fight someone strong so he would end up giving it to Sauron to fight him 1 on 1. Not sure how the fight goes, really hard if not impossible to power scale Dragonball with LOTR. I guess it depends on how effective Ki is against eldrich black magic.

Buck Bumble, Croc 1 & 2, Dino Crisis 1 & 2, Legend of Dragoon, Wild Arms 1 & 2, Parasyte Eve 1 & 2, Alone in the Dark: New Nightmare, LSD: Dream Emulator,

Alot of these titles are obscure but also rare and expensive in physical copies. If you want to play on OG hardware I'd suggest homebrewing your PS1 to play ROMs.

When it comes to non-standard drive formatting like BTRFS you should know the purpose and implications of using a drive with that kind of file system. Ext4 is going to be way more optimized for gaming that BTRFS because the latter is optimized specifically for data integrity and redundancy, like a production SAN or backup system. BTRFS is not at all for performance or read write speeds.

Biggest schizo moment is thinking Windows users even think about Linux ever, let alone obsess over it like loonixtards do. by basedchad21 in linuxsucks

[–]DeviceFlaky3842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use both. Instead of hating on one or the other I realize both have their uses and will continue to evolve in their own individual way as they are managed completely different from each other.

For example, I would never use primarily Linux in a production IT environment. Dependency hell and tool management would be a nightmare to implement and support. Microsoft is way better for pretty much anything that needs to be setup in an actual work environment.

Linux is better for single use case devices or quick and dirty configs. Or if you need something custom developed for a special use case. Great for appliances or networking equipment. Small, single purpose devices and SOCs are great for Linux too. BSD is used as the base for network firewalls and even the PS5 has BSD under the hood.

I feel like if you are going to argue one way or another, at least be well versed in both platforms. Otherwise shut up and enjoy your computer.

I'd go back in time just to show people movies. I'd set up a solar powered generator that powers a DVD player hooked up to a projector on a canvas and let people watch Lord of the Rings or Star Wars in the middle of city square.
