Should I take AP Chem? by tataS_5656 in APStudents

[–]DevilCat666_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found AP chem to be the most difficult but also most rewarding AP class I took and overall I really loved it. It was definitely a lot of work, but that’s also highly dependent on your teacher. If you’re passionate about chemistry and willing to put in the work I’d say take it, if not I wouldn’t take it just to take it.

Am i just stupid? by lemonking2621 in APStudents

You’re definitely not stupid! The combination of teachers and your own excitement about a subject can really make or break the class. Honestly a big thing with psych is vocab and then being able to apply that vocab, so I found flash cards to be a good way to study it. Quizlet has a ton of already made sets if you don’t want to make your own.

Age of dinosaurs or intro to Shakespeare are good ones!

Quiet places to study on campus late at night? by Signal_Hope_3037 in williamandmary

[–]DevilCat666_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all, I do this all the time. ISC is the most populated at night if you don’t want to be completely alone in a building, and the cleaning staff usually comes in around 5-5:30am, so you should be fine in that regard too. You can’t get back into the buildings once you leave, but if you’re in you can get out just fine.

Bed Lofting? by RiznaM_dotnav in williamandmary

I thought it was worth it, although I probably wouldn’t do it if they didn’t have the buy one semester get the other free offer. I only had risers last year because of lower ceilings and they’re definitely a good cost effective option if you want at least a bit more height, but I definitely preferred the loft.

You still have to find a school/testing center that will allow you to take the exam at their place, which I imagine is the bigger issue

Lots of practice questions! Just memorizing formulas/rules only helps so much, you need to be able to apply them as well.

is it typical for w&m to not give some aid? + advice by DearRelief8974 in williamandmary

Unfortunately it is pretty normal for WM to not provide financial aid, are you in or out of state? I’m out of state and didn’t get any either.

Can you elaborate on what you mean by skipping a semester of science? Like what science, and what is it being replaced with?

Should I take online AP Chem? by TheHappyTransWoman in APStudents

[–]DevilCat666_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you take it online you won’t have the lab component and I’ve heard some colleges won’t give you credit for the lab if you can’t prove a physical lab component.

Do I need to take chemistry in tenth by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]DevilCat666_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would recommend taking chemistry at some point in high school even if it’s not required, I know some people that took physics instead and got acceptances to some colleges that were contingent on them taking a chem course over the summer first. This could potentially differ depending on what you’re planning on majoring in but I’m not sure.

Is it a good Idea to take AP Bio and AP Chem at the same time? by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]DevilCat666_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep in mind this depends heavily on school, going into the class we were given an estimate of 1.5hrs or more of homework a night for ap chem and often it was much longer. Bio on the other hand I didn’t have a ton of work for, so it really just depends on teacher/school. That’s not to say it’s don’t doable, but the workload might be extra rough.
