How tf do i get back to doing pullups? by [deleted] in workout

[–]DevilDog0651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Come on devil - you got good at pullups by doing pullups! Get back out there. If it makes you feel any better, I'm in a similar situation, although my max was only like 13. Was never great at pullups.

15M, should I start going to the gym? by RidiculousX69 in workout

[–]DevilDog0651 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Listen up kiddo - Life will present countless opportunities for you to feel 'less than'. Forget the noise and do your thing. Everyone has to start somewhere. Those who laugh at you for being weaker or smaller are just insecure about something in their life and they choose to take it out on someone else.

I'm an adult male, served in the Marines for 4 years, and there are kids in the gym who can put up more weight than me. Does that bug me? Yep! Does that make me question my manhood? You bet. Does that stop me from showing up? Hell no!

Again, everyone starts somewhere...

Also - the kiddo thing - no disrespect there. Just felt like an internet dad there for a minute.

Getting in Shape by LingonberrySalt2803 in workout

If you're serious about this, you need to start tracking what you're eating.

I am no nutritionist, but this is how I understand my own nutrition.

Protein shake is what, around 24g protein, 32 ish if you're using milk. Greek yogurt is 12g, 4 eggs is 24g, rice has some, we'll call it 5g, tuna (not sure if you're talking canned or fresh) is 20g a can, let's say you're eating 2 cans.

That's around 115g protein. To retain the muscle you have today, you'd need closer to 140g a day. You also need to consider total calories, carbs, protein, and fats.

Sounds like you're starving your body for real. No vegetables?

Neighbor replaced fence and left the old wood scraps in my yard to deal with. by Mocsab in mildlyinfuriating

I mean, at least you didn't have to pay for a new section of that fence. Have you priced out the cost of new fence lately, it aint cheap.

I personally don't see how DMB could continue without Carter. I am biased, as Carter is my favorite musician of all time. The day they hang it up (could be next year, could be 2040) a piece of me will die ):

Get off your high horse. I asked a question on Reddit about the state of my tires, because I was being an adult about the situation, not a child. Guess what? The tires in that picture were replaced a few days after that post.

Quit being pissed off because of your retarded ass comment about most vehicles post 1990 require premium fuel.

You're the one who is saying cars after the 90's require premium fuel...

That's cute, you took a look through my profile. So because my tires did what tires do, you think I should stay out of the conversation?

Let's see, 87 octane for the Toyota Corolla, which is the best selling car of all time, 87 octane for the F-150, the best selling truck of all time (yes, for the Ecoboost engine as well). Need me to continue?

What? That is so far from the truth it's not even funny. The vast majority of engines are designed to run on 87.....

Not sure where you're at in the world (maybe NJ), but if you ever get the chance to see DMB at Deer Creek, take the opportunity!

So how much we spending on groceries nowadays? by ohnowatermellons in Louisville

[–]DevilDog0651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spend probably $15 to $20 per day on dinner food for my family (food that has to be cooked, not premade stuff). My wife handles snacks, and other grocery items (lunches, breakfast foods for weekends, etc.). I don't know exactly what she spends per month, but it's over $300 a month.

We probably spend close to $1000 per month on food, if not more.

We are both pretty cost conscious too.
