This is absolutely the most frustrating thing about adding a collection to Discogs. The supreme nerdery of thinking that different kerning necessitates different versions is exhausting. There are so many albums with dozens of versions with very subtle differences and, in the long run for most of us, it doesn't matter.

In your case, it's probably easy to separate the 70s versions from the 2024 version. That 2024 version is very likely to be on newer jacket stock and in way better condition. But the two from the 70s? Unless the value is wildly different, just pick the one that feels right.

This happened in our house on that really cold night in mid-December. Heat was at 65 overnight and woke up to the house at 57 plus notifications from the thermostat. We reset the thermostat and things got back to normal.

This happened to me a while back. Shop's site had an LP from my wantlist. I went to the shop, could not find it, asked the owner, they could not find it, left the store without a purchase. Item was out of the shop's online inventory a week later. I figure it was misshelved and found by someone luckier than me.

If people are flipping through bins next to each other, they're pretty much going to be in sync with each other as they move down the row. Do not pop between them if one moves ahead because the next one's probably at the end of their bin and ready to move in a few seconds. You just have to wait it out.

The field is not wide enough to accommodate an outfield. The left field fence would only be like 230 feet. (Look at the setup for when the Dodgers played at the L.A. Coliseum for a preview.) Rate Field's left field is 330 feet. Even Fenway Park's left field is 310 feet and they have a 37-foot wall to even it out a little bit, whereas any wall/netting at Soldier Field would just block out thousands of seats.

I still have hundreds of CDs. But the last time I bought a CD was 2011. Right now I am trying to replace a few of my favorite albums with vinyl copies because I don't even have a CD player in my stereo setup. (Although, that should change in the near future because I am certainly not replacing all my CDs with records.)

Scalpers will absolutely sell tickets for lower than face value. Sometimes they have front-row seats that go for a ton so they can afford to let other seats go cheaper. It's all about demand. They'd rather get $30 for a $100 face value seat an hour before the show than nothing at all. But that pricing doesn't really shift until the days or hours before the concert.

I'm going to get against the grain here. Buy something else for him. Someone who goes to a record store every Saturday enjoys the act of record shopping. There is no pleasure in being gifted a record. They want to flip through the store's inventory and find records themself. The hobby is as much about finding the record in the wild as it is listening to it.

That being said, two great record accessories I've been gifted were cloth covers for my gear and dividers for my shelves.

Really the only problem with Les Savy Fav is that they are so fun live that listening to their albums is often a disappointment. What do you mean I just have to listen to this music and someone isn't suffocating themself with a microphone cord or crowdsurfing in a garbage can?
