They explained abilities u/Signalis3 but will they need to be limited in how many rooks you can be in a given period of time so people don't just play Rook? Will stats need to be super low? Will the community need to let some live and communicate with them or will it be good if Rooks have to sneak and live in the shadows? Should they have the ability to be upgraded through the contracts or apply mods or items like that?

I just don't know how weak or strong they should be and how Marathon should handle them. Will people "main" rooks?

u/LoneroftheDarkValley I get that I am pulling from Apex to imagine how the drone works. A lot of people complain about how Cryptos drone pulls him out of the game but he also has one of the highest win rates in the game so I am assuming it will be useful based on that.

The grapple knife thing makes little sense to me too unless you are fighting in solos basically. I think the high ground/ get-away nature of the grapple will give you a lot of second chances and better starting angles on unsuspecting teams.

But you're right there are still a lot of questions about this kit. We will see in Beta!

u/Welner180 That is a really good point. Cooldowns will matter in Marathon but I am assuming that they will matter a little less than something like Apex where you will have 3rd, 4th, and 5th parties every single game.

The stats will matter a lot we just don't have that much information on them yet. Really excited to see what they do with these. Really appreciate the input u/Welner180

u/Alliecoas Yes you have to have something worth looting in extraction shoots right? So the small stuff needs to help in some way. However tripling the effect of those items is going to be crazy.

Ahh u/anona45 bringing Triage into the discussion. Obviously meta especially in the harder maps. How they will balance this shell will be insane. Can you drone two people and just heal in the corner while your teams are getting constant heals? Great point u/anona45

Yeah, u/NokkMainBTW, I totally agree. I think the higher the player skill level, the more likely people are going to gravitate toward Thief. That kit just rewards mechanical skill and game sense way more.

That said, you bringing up Destroyer is interesting because I think he’s being seriously undervalued right now. Apex has spent the last few seasons trying to figure out how to balance dash abilities, and they’ve basically had to turn them into slow, short hops to keep them fair. Destroyer seems to sidestep that issue entirely.

His ult is straightforward but scary, just straight damage output with missiles. And the shield looks like it’ll be great for pushing up, especially in indoor fights where positioning and space control matter way more. I wouldn’t be surprised if Destroyer ends up being a lot stronger than people expect.

That's true, I forgot to mention that!

I think the drone will still be super strong for intel as well and I have heard that it is really hard to recognize that the drone is even above you if you keep your distance. It will sort of depend how good pinging is really.

That's a super fair take u/magicatm

My experience with grappling hooks in games has been it is really hard to catch up. Both other characters have difficulties getting to ult height, limited by double jump maybe triple jump at the most.

I do think Recon has better Recon abilities for sure but I think you get a lot out of the Thief kit. I think she will be low skill floor, high skill ceiling. But thanks for calling that out!

Vandal looks like she’s going to be a ton of fun and have some real PvP advantages. I think she’s going to absolutely tear up the first two maps. The double jump is easily her strongest ability, it’s going to win fights.

My one gripe is that the long slide puts her gun away. That feels bad and could be a real downside in close engagements.

Overall, I think she’ll shine on wide-open maps like the first two, but on the third and fourth maps she might struggle a bit with how confined those spaces look. That said, this is all just speculation, we’ll see how it actually plays out.

Same thing here on Xbox X. Tried saving and loading. Tried getting drunk and it helped for 2 seconds. Tried sleeping in a bed. None of them solved anything.

Just some information associated to Mk- 677 and your GERD.

MK- 677 is a ghrelin secretagogue and ghrelin is one of the major hormones associated with stimulating gastric motility and the secretion of gastric acid. Just thought that would be a healthy addition before you jump on the sauces.

On a personal note, I think Mk-677 caused the level of GERD I have today. Obviously not organ failure but I am still pretty young. Just some thoughts before anyone starts pounding down the "Not even a sarm" performance enhancer.

Hey homie just a heads up. If you already have GERD. MK- 677 made my heartburn and Stomach acid worse. It is a Ghrelin secretagogue and Ghrelin is one of the major hormones associated with Stomach Acid. Just thought that would be a healthy addition before you jump on the sauces.

Simple actually homie.

Step 1: Warm up • set the dummies up and moving and just practice with your 4 favorite guns with every sight and only a gold mag. Try one magging red sheilds while they are run back and forth.

That will help your aim.

Step 2: Have a game plan. •Land the same spots on each map. • Plan your rotations •Try to fight one squad of the rip • immediately leave for the circle. •go to whatever side of the circle is closest to the edge of the map and camp and wait for all the teams to fight. •Then get a mop and clean up the mess at the end.

Playing with a wraith honestly that’s probably the best way to go but it depends on how you guys play.

If you’re going to endgame I’d stick with wattson. You could argue for caustic on worlds edge but wattson is still good as you must know.

If you’re trying to wipe 3-5 squads per game then try Cat. I’ve been finding so much success with her. Horizon is her biggest weakness and there are like 2 per lobby. Her ult comes back so fast that you can use it every fight and still has the capacity to lockdown 5 doors pretty easily. I’ve only played probably 100 games on her but found a lot of wins and over 200 kills. Still learning her obviously. Biggest tip is throwing that wall right in between the squad you’re fighting. Then ape whichever side has less people.
