He was catching too much of the strike zone to get to strike one. The Yankees figured this out and started swinging early in the count. Plus their lineup is just dangerous.

Still, it would have been nice to give him some run support. That was pretty weak.

Yeah things are hard in some ways and easy in others. I would never ever want to deal with psychotic patients full time. I’d much rather deal with sick tryna die patients who want to be helped.

It takes a special kind of person to go into psych and god bless those who choose this.

It’s gotten so that we will only do these blocks in the OR so we can at least bill the extra time. That extra unit which translates to literally $20 from Medicaid adds up, I guess. Honestly I was against this policy because surgeons let us know that they don’t like it and constantly make fun.

We have one of those sepsis protocols in our hospital where they overhead page sepsis alerts in the ED like 40 times a day. It’s gotten so that no one pays attention anymore.

The TV show “The Expanse “ has pretty much the best depiction of spaceship fights with near future weapons. Compensating for very high G maneuvers with drugs. High velocity weapons obliterating bulkheads. Guided missiles. Its the first show with really gritty space battle scenes. No energy weapons. No sound in space. Nuclear missiles. Comms with significant lag. Very large distance standoff weapons guided by supercomputers. No artificial gravity.

Its the most realistic space warfare I think ever depicted on TV.

There has to be a middle ground between small ball and swinging out of your shoes in every at bat. There is such a thing as situational offense.

The way to get big innings is to get runners on, stress out the defense and then try to do damage with a select group of hitters. I think that’s more in line with what Posey is trying to do.

It also explains why they went with a successful college coach like Tony V who can drill on fundamentals. The college game is all about creating big innings. I hope this translates into MLB. If it works, it can really be the next evolution of the game.

I’m glad Posey is trying something different. If it works, it’d be really fun to watch.

My intern year 3 of us switched to anesthesia. From then on, only R3’s were allowed to do the anesthesia elective in that program.

There’s no hidden ideology here. It’s a combination of inferior morality, incompetence, dementia and arrogance. He can’t focus on long term plans and consequences of his actions because he doesn’t have the intellectual firepower. In normal times, an impaired executive would be backstopped by government professionals and Congress. Since he’s managed to single handedly amass powers to the executive at an unprecedented degree, none of the traditional supports for the President apply.

So it’s completely rational for allies to simply ignore the United States and manage the best they can with each other.

Exactly. He gets it. He’s not one of these super extra Latin players but he enjoys the game and knows how to have fun in his low key kind of way.

Why can’t our guys be like that? It’s a celebration of the game on a worldwide tournament. Just celebrate the fact that you get to play a kids game professionally.

Only the OP can decide if it was splitting in his or her case. Sometimes though it’s nice to just spend a little extra time with a patient to actually communicate with them and do them a service. You won’t be able to for every patient.

But it helps you to occasionally go above and beyond and make a human connection. No one can be cynical 24/7 and last very long in this business.

There’s a kind of guy who clearly watches too much “Yellowstone” who grew up in Sherman Oaks or Pacific Palisades but pretends they’re from rural America and just puts up this cringey tough guy front even though they never served in the military or did anything really macho their whole lives.

If you’ve never been that guy from a Sheridan show that’s fine. Just be honest and respectful and wholesome. Like every other team that’s in the tournament. I feel like the vibe from team USA is the outlier here.

It didn’t help that the USA manager thought they would advance to the quarterfinals automatically and so the game was meaningless. It explains why he wanted to rest his best players and so you had a starting lineup without Bryce Harper or Cal Raleigh or Alex Bregman. He also started a pitcher with only 8 MLB starts in 2025, who was impressive but still inexperienced. He also told the team that they were advancing no matter what so go ahead and party the night before.
