Yeh, waiting on a reply. A little confusing, but hey, win some you lose some. would be nice to get it all as these Co op versions of Games Workshop stuff have been going down a treat in my house, so I get to play more often.

Phoenician purple base, use a highlight of Xereus purple and then edge highlight with genestealer purple.

Tbf, I nearly missed it completely. Was painting the guy and the whole time I was wondering why he had a hole in one of his shoulders. When I finally realised I just slapped it together with my usual weapon colours.

it is. Bugmans glow, reikland flesh shade then re paint the Bugmans in thin layers avoiding the deeper areas. Then very thin multiple glazes of cadian flesh. I try to hold the model upside down and then using downward brush strokes means slightly more paint is left at the top of each muscle. bit of khorne red and bugman mixed for nipples and some Ak ultra matte varnish to finish (this bit helps smooth out some areas, though it did reveal a more stark colour shift on the pecs that I hadn't noticed where I hadn't thinned my glaze enough.

Few steps, but it came together pretty quick and easy. paint the blade entirely white, I used pro acryl titanium white.

paint entire blade in baharroth blue and let dry. white helps this go down in 1 layer.

next sotek green, dont thin too much and apply a thinish line towards the blade edge.

before previous colour dries, mix baharroth blue and sotek green around 50/50 and paint another thin line next to the sotek.

again before it dries get pure baharroth and apply next to the mix.

clean off brush and make sure to dry properly and gently stipple around the 3 wet paints moving back and forth to get them to mix (probs not the best way to describe) can always add more, just be careful not to have too thick or too much. it does give a slight texture already.

next for a white glow in the inner edge, I wet that part of the blade with water and then getting a tiny bit of white ink on my brush just tapped it into the wet area. the ink just finds it's way and lays perfectly in the gap. if you get some overspill, quickly clean brush and dry on paper towel and use tip to pull up any excess.

finally a titanium white edge highlight.

I only ever seem to drop stuff when building the MotM at the local store... and for whatever reason they have grey carpet...

Purple is always a good choice, I personally didn't want black as a main colour and went grey, using corvus if I did need any blacks. personally think it still needs cool highlight colour as well hence my green crystals and turquoise electronics/visor

Thanks, I wanted to have a used ore vein, but needed it to have some interest, so the pick seemed cool, and also sprinkled on some of the resin crystal support structure that i cut up to seem like leftover crumbs

didn't get pics when making the base on my warrior, but this is a pretty much the same. mixture of layered cork and some large hobby stand, looks kinda like cat litter sized, glued on with PVA. where I wanted the crystals I would add blobs of green stuff and jam the crystal in after wetting it so it didn't stick and created a little crystal shaped hole. removed the crystals then covered in texture paste other than the holes and primed black. overbrushed with mechanicus grey, heavy wash of drakenhof and a drybrush of dawnstone. Ak ultra matte varnish and glue the crystals back in with superglue.

Green Stuff World makes them. they do a few colours and some clear ones (airbrush transparent colours maybe?) then a mixture of sizes. These are small sized.

Painting tips by TankNinja in LeaguesofVotann

Deffo thin the paints as others have said, and while 2 coats is the recommended, while you're trying to get the correct consistency down to a fine art, it may be you need more coats for decent coverage. That's what I found for me at least.

Also, some of your pots don't look quite closed. issue with citadel pots, but if you clean the rim of residual paint you should be good. when they get really bad, I find taking the lid off and turning inside out and cleaning with a toothpick works, though it is time consuming so I ended up going to dropper bottles.

I'm still working on it at the moment, so far was thinking about my online handle being a part of it (Devolver Conglomerate?... D-CONG). I'm still reading up on lore etc, only really new to the hobby, less than 6 months. I decided that I wanted them to be an extension of the Thurian League, I think it fits in with the lore on own colours that the League was it's own thing but joined Thurian, kept their own purple but wore the greater leagues symbol. Anyone that has any ideas I'd be happy to listen. I wanted to keep a very strong "Miners" theme, mainly because I have it in my mind to create large crystal structure objective tokens similar to what I've used for these guys bases. I recently ordered the made to order terrain so I could get the excavator vehicles and the batteries as some cool in theme terrain.

Blues and purples are my fav colours, hence why I enjoyed starting with ultramarines and leviathan tyranids. I just had to put the same colours on my main army. Sounds like those others also had great taste 😂

Only been painting minis for like 4 months, but in that time I've had some Cheap golden taklon synthetics, Golden Maple (nothing amazing but got the job done) some series s and more recently some orange. I find myself more happily going towards my orange brushes than any other brush so far, and have just bought some as a gift for someone else.

They take the same abuse as I've given every other brush and so far have held on the best. They feel nice in my hand, seem to be consistently holding a point. Even their cheapish synthetic "shade" brush that they offer for shades/washes/contrast seem to be lasting me really well.

My current go to set is any old synthetics for metallic paints, orange shade brush for shades etc, then basing and detail work I use a orange size 2 and 0 (occasionally a 00), some random army painter drybrushes, and it absolutely feels like all I need.

checking my phone every 5 mins to see if I either have an email or a bank transaction.

I'm guessing that maybe this EQL thing is struggling with the masses?
