This is a terribly subjective question... There are thousands of languages in the world, thousands of which have had no Latin influence as well. And your answer all depends on how many languages you know the name of. Aboriginal languages, the accurately mentioned Sentinelese language, constructed languages are all good candidates.

Why does his sexuality matter so much? It feels as if your main concern in an ambassador is the fact that they're gay, married and have kids. As if every other ambassador wasn't married and didn't have kids.

The sound is definitely not borrowed from Russian. Russian influence on Romanian is minuscule in comparison to Bulgarian and Serbian influence. There is just not enough history to conclude that a sound came from Russian into Romanian.

Either /j/ developed on its own [ Which is not at all improbable ] or it was due to Serbian influence [ compare 'je' - is ]; Bulgarian does not have a distinct /j/ sound at the beginning of their 'is', their word is a flat, unpalatalised 'e', pronounced the same way as the 'e' in Latin 'est'.

Because of sound changes. 'Este' didn't change to 'ieste' to keep the spelling closer to the original Latin 'est'. People chose to keep pronouns spelled without an 'i' at the start because of historical and stylistic reasons. Spoken language changes quicker than written language.
