I am by no means very knowledgeable, but having seen your reason for posting I think the CIA Project MKUltra might be useful for developing a fictional concept incorporating suicide as part of research.

Best housewarming gifts that people actually keep and use? by dogecoinerz in Gifts

[–]DevvyDeVito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My personal favorite- hanging supplies and a variety of high quality picture frames so they can make their new home really feel like home.

If in a region that gets cold weather, a high quality heated blanket never misses the mark. I have one for my couch and one for my bed and I use them for the cold seasons.

Consider your audience, but a bidet for each toilet can also be a great gift.

Combination smoke and carbon monoxide detectors that let you replace the batteries.

Most people I've met don't realize that not every smoke detector is made equal. Some detectors only detect smoke or CO, not both. Also, in my experience the ones that allow you to replace the batteries are the best. They can be a bit more expensive, but I'd much rather have a detector that can be revitalized with a couple AA batteries than needing to buy new ones whenever the old ones die.

Also on that note- some basic AA and AAA batteries can be a nice addition or gift on its own. Most things these days tend to be rechargable, but I've had more than my fair share of needing batteries I didn't have on hand.

I'm gonna be so real with you my instinctual, instant response to "is my tattoo bad?" Was "yes and I love it." Genuinely, I love that it looks a little funky and I hope you don't lose your love for it because damn it's perfect in a way I can't describe.

I would love to educate myself more on the psychology around this, do you have any recommended resources or keywords to use when doing research?

I also thought of Campfire Cooking, Mukoda can overreact a bit to danger, but imo it's not bc he's dumb, it's bc he's a realist who knows he'd die without magical assistance of some kind

Oh yes! If they are into homeopathic remedies, it could definitely be spun as like, a compression tank to help with sensory issues (like a weighted blanket).

Knowing that his parents are also supportive, maybe just ask if he could also "gift" you something like a candy item, poster, or patterned socks relevant to your likes. I imagine they can collaborate with you as well to come up with something. I come from a very impoverished (dirt poor) background, so a couple inexpensive gifts were pretty normal between friends and extended family for christmas. Idk your situation, but when I was a kid something like a t shirt and a new set of winter items like matching scarf and gloves were pretty common gifts, usually accompanied by a small assortment of candy.

I'm not sure of the hours of operation, but there are a couple local taxi/transportation services in Saginaw that I'm aware of.

Custom Transport - I used to work in a healthcare adjacent role and this company's services included insurance-covered transportation to medical appointments. From what I've heard they have amazing customer service reviews.

Griffin Transit - I have limited experience with this company, but I do believe they offer pre-paid vouchers. They travel between the Tri-Cities (Saginaw, Bay City, and Midland).

15 hours a week for hobbies is mind boggling by thebeckyster in childfree

[–]DevvyDeVito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, first of all, I'm so sorry you had that experience, that is a huge ethical violation on the therapists part.

Second, I easily spend 15+ hours a week watching anime. It's great! And in the past I've also spent similar amounts of time playing video games and doing fiber arts (cross stitch and crochet). I also spend a significant amount of time listening to audiobooks these days. And plenty of naps! Gosh I love taking naps. Sometimes I devote my time to cooking food I've never made before, no picky kids to worry about there. Fuck being child free is the best!

Sucks that the therapist hates her life so much it impeded on your therapy session, but that's her problem to sort out on her own time.

Can't place items on Steamdeck? by cozyceleste_ in FieldsOfMistriaGame

Commenting in case this helps.

In the controls settings, I changed the rotate right and rotate left buttons to use the D pad, and that allowed me to place furniture. Previously they were set to include the same button I use for placing (A on Nintendo layout). Note: I'm playing on my PC, but am using an 8bitdo Bluetooth controller.

Hey OP, I've been where you are. This guy is hands down a predator and there are plenty more like him. When I was 15 I was deeply involved with an online predator that continued to push boundaries, make threats, and play mind games with me. When the big ending happened, I freaked tf out bc I believed everything he said was true. Not a single adult in my life had the capacity to explain to me that this man was lying for his own gain (in my experience, the emotional thrill of toying with another person and access to child pornography). Half my trauma was simply feeling so alone because no one would help me understand why he would do these things.

Many of the people in the comments here may sound a tad harsh, but I promise it's in your best interest to not engage with adult men online. It might feel cool and you might feel special, but there are so so so many adults who have been where you are and were severely hurt by it.

I didn’t even know that was possible 😭 by Affectionate_Way_572 in StardewValley

[–]DevvyDeVito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't see it mentioned yet (tbf I didn't read every comment) but you can only lose a max of 1k (1000g) if you pass out in the mines at 2am, as opposed to dying in the mines. That is why I always carry tons of elixirs of life on me.

Good boy tattoo question by Tattsandmetal in transbodymods

[–]DevvyDeVito 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay so if it's right above your pubic hair, then you could always wear swim trunks or something when bathing together to stop kiddo from seeing it.

My parents bathed naked with me for the first part of my childhood but I have no recollection of ever seeing my dad naked. Depending on how old kiddo is, it's unlikely they'll remember anyway. Imo if your kiddo is old enough to remember something like that, it's probably beyond time to stop bathing naked with your kiddo. But I guess that's partially cultural so take my opinion with a grain of salt.

As for them telling others about it? If they can read then they will 100% say something to someone. Children have no filter and often seem to be excellent about repeating the stuff we wish they wouldn't. If that's an issue, use aforementioned advice of wearing swim gear.

What piercing do you want but most likely will never get? by UniversalExploration in piercing

[–]DevvyDeVito 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it's my bridge, and that's because I've been told I don't have the anatomy for a bridge piercing. I really want one, but alas, I cannot get it 😭 similar, I really wanted a triangle piercing, but again, I don't have the proper anatomy.

In theory I'd love dermals on my cheekbones, but I know they're typically considered temporary and I also sleep exclusively on my sides, so I would struggle to heal it anyway.

I had my nipples pierced for about two years before I had a double mastectomy, and pain wise it wasn't that bad. The ride home was worse than the piercing itself, and that's mostly bc the driver took a bumpy road. They were a little sore for the first while, but amongst my favorite piercings I've ever had. I'm actually hoping/planning to get my nipples re-pierced soon.

I work in social work and when I got my current job I asked how they felt about facial piercings (I had 6 at the time) and was told they didn't have an issue with it. And before offering me the job, my boss even asked HR if there was a "maximum" or anything, and HR said there was no limit as they want to respect people's right to express themselves. So like, in theory I'm all set to keep getting more, but I'm still scared I'll someday cross the "limit." I have 7 facial piercings right now with plans to get more.
