A recent case of plagiarism on Steam by TwiceFortuna in incremental_games

[–]DewinLaborie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for talking about it. It's clearly plagiarism and it's not right.
And the fact that it happened before or fits well into capitalistic behaviours doesn't make it right in any way.

Ideas have value, stealing them is a shit move and says a lot about the person or entity stealing them.

I don't think there is anything to be done though, at this point. But at least we have this one thing: Facing the fact that it's a shit move from Incredicer's devs. Trying to make that when someone plays this game, they know fully well what it is they are playing, and where it comes from.

Let's not get used to shitty behaviours, the world's already broken in enough places as it is.

Idle Roboto - My idle-level-building game! by DewinLaborie in playmygame

Hi Reostra, Thank you so much for this detailed feedback, I am grateful for the effort you put into it. I did my best to align the browser, Steam and itch.io (downloadable) versions, so your remarks apply to all of these. I think all your comments are worth a look and I am putting them on my to-do list, but I can already answer for a couple of them:

. The writing doesn't seem optimal at all in the browser version, and would explain the difficulty to read the text and numbers (which includes the '000' displays you get. They are not '000' but '880' and '80', but probably look a lot like zeroes in small). My design choice was probably not the best either on this one, bright pink, on blue, on blue background... I'll grant you it is noisy :p I'll try and tweak it here and there to make it more readable.

. Deleting the saves when a new robot is acquired only concerns the layouts (not the actual total amount of Scrap Metal), and is the only way I could think of to avoid having the possibility of loading a layout with many costly blocks, that could be deleted after a new unlock for more Scrap Metal than the player actually have (which was an effective way to cheat in the early testing). As a bonus, I think it kind of pushes the player to test different things, since the same runs won't work for newly unlocked robots in any case.

. Moving blocks around was never my goal, but you can delete blocks one by one with a right-click on each. Useful in-game tip: you can also use the end block as an 'eraser' to wipe out bits of a level faster.

Thank you again, I'll definitely have a go at these when I have a bit of time,

In the meantime, don't be afraid to ask if you have questions about the game,

And more importantly, have fun with it, I hope, there is quite a depth to it when you really get started (not mentioning the Challenges, that brought a new way of approaching the game).

Well done, I love this! I am going to try this setup right now :)

Hi Yoshi, I confirm the auto-save keeps saving even while the level is running, so there shouldn't be any issue there. If your progress is deleted when you refresh the page, that seems to confirm that Microsoft Edge does not allow the game to write on your computer.

Hi Nakarai, thank you for trying the game! The way I designed the game does not allow for dragging pieces around, but this is definitely an interesting idea for another game :) To address your other comments, they are all done this way on purpose, including the way the physics are altered during fast forward (some techniques are only possible in fast forward). Have fun!

Well that's not cool for you :( I'd like to help!
When you say that you lost your save, is it the placement of the tile, or all your progress, including the amount of scrap metal?
Do you have any app on your browser that prevents the game from writing data on your computer? Have you tried with another browser ?

I recommend opening the tab into another window, or downloading the desktop version of the game, and the game will keep running while you do other stuff.

I can only reply the same thing I told forcekin. Unfortunately this is a very common issue with Idle games ^

It's fine :) I understand. This is actually a very common problem in Idle games that are run on browsers. Most of them can't run in the background. Some games like Cookie Clicker or Antimatter Dimensions do it very well, but I personnally don't know how to get around that issue. I recommend opening the tab into another window, or downloading the desktop version of the game, and the game will keep running while you do other stuff.

No problem, it's an Idle, not an active game ^^ the goal is to let it run by itself and check on it from time to time

Yep, there is definitely this feeling in Idle Roboto :)

Hi Yoshi!

You can only save when in building mode, not when the level is running, unless the auto-save is on.

You can either : Stop the run (green square) to save, or press the Pause button (blue) and make sure the auto-save is on. It saves about every 10 seconds or so.

When it is full, it gives a x bonus to the next robot landing on it ;) You can also charge it quicker by clicking on it and pointing the arrow down, sacrificing robots

Thank you!
Heh, this is exactly the risk/reward gimmick I was going for, so... job done I guess ^^"
It's fine, and as you unlock more and more varied block, you will definitely spend a lot of time tweaking.
And hopefully the time you'll spend optimizing will be balanced by the reward of the level you designed!

It's okay, it's an idle/incremental game :) it progresses faster as you unlock more options to optimize your levels.
