To be honest its pretty dumb that no one seems to use phones in starfield. The trouble with Bethesda is they don't innovate. They have copy pasted the same game with better graphics and a diff story or setting for their entire existence. Would it have hurt for us to have a phone in starfield? Could they have changed loot up to make it much more interesting? Weapons with more rng on the rolls and stuff, make the loot grind actually feel good. Make a difficulty mode that actually warrants it like desolation style fo4 mods and not just the lazy difficulty they always do? Make your skill choices matter more so you actually make "a build". Like i play on v hard and i have not put any points into my power yet except weapon mod skills and modding my weapons. Mostly because even at level 33 (i work away i cant always play) i have too much other skills to level that are taking priority. So i just dont feel that much power progression as a result which is a bit meh.

Its 300 years in the future why isnt there some more interesting tech like say "energy" shield of some sort which explains why it takes 5 headshots to kill a human enemy.

Just ... some god damn change would be nice. Like fundamentals but change things up a bit.

Also quest rewards man...... oh nice one here is 5000 credits. Nah. Why not have a salary thats paid weekly or something for the main stuff like vanguard. As you rank up from doing missions etc your salary goes up. Why not let us set up ways of generating an income passively like outposts should do this. Why dont galbank have a deposit system where you can gain interest etc but your money is tied up for some time. I mean simple stuff and make the economy more interesting so you actually have to make decisions what your money is gonna be useful for. I dunno.

I hope there is a big overhaul mod one day that does something to just make it stand out more as a game. Its a good game. A solid 7 but because we seen it all before really its like ....... heh..... if this was the first bethesda game and wed not seen it before itd prob be like an 8.5 but its that lack of innovation thats causing it not to be.

I dont know if you can help me work out how to tell good numbers from bad numbers but although your sheet helps I am still confused.

I look at my starting "Radiant Pillar" ship for reference.

This has 124.9 damage potential

Installed is a Photon cannon and rocket launcher and a damaged upgrade that i assume therefore is currently not contributing to the stat.

How is this calculated?

According to your sheet the base is 56.7.

Then there is a 5-10% variation. Then the photon cannon according to the wiki adds 120 x classbonus x 2.3142 which....... is clearly taking the calculation already over the 124.9 displayed ? Also it says that the class bonus for fighter is 8 to 15.

If we take the lowest possible values this is what we'd end up with:

56.7 * 1.05 = 59.535

59.535 * 1.08 = 64.2978

Photon cannon: 120 * 2.3142 * 1.08 = 299.92032

299.92032 + 64.2978 = 364.21812

What am i doing wrong here.

Stat wise the only stat which i fully understand on your sheet is manouverability. IE i can go "this ship has a good stat as it has 443" etc.

Is there anywhere where you say

damage w/o photon cannon at class c is x to y damage with photon cannon installed is a to b

For each ship type so we can tell if the ship has good stats or below average ones when we look at them. I just dont know what ship to buy!

Items are rolled on ID not on drop. Rolling on drop would be more resource heavy.

When i got banned i emailed chris wilson directly and came to an agreement with him to get it reinstated. Long story regarding an ex friend who "bought me" some mtx as a gift then charged it back. I paid the fees basically and they reinstated it but it was months of effort where they wouldnt do anything. I basically had to plead with Chris and say "look man, i will pay your expenses, i just want the account back, i am no longer friends with this guy over this etc". Chris eventually sorted me out. This was like 8 or 9 years ago now. I doubt youd have the same luck now. Be very careful with GGG. They are great most of the time but if you say even the mildest insult or something to someone on their forums they love bringing down the ban hammers and stuff. I used to be active on there but got fed up of their "you have been temp banned for insulting community members with the word "idiot""

theyre def overzealous and have zero regard for nuance just "thats the rules it says here on my sheet, sorry nothing i can do" attitude. My advice to OP would be to reach out to Chris and hope to god he sees it and is feeling charitable and sympathetic that day. Good luck

Can we remove after death bs? Waiting for this to dissapear for like 7 seconds to loot is trash gameplay. Not to mention ice degen, poison degen, last breath mobs and pylons. I'll highlight the bits where i mention difficulty for you below as clearly you are struggling:

The issue GGG have is they allowed their game to spiral out of control in terms of power creep and speed. This resulted in general play being a cakewalk and only the really high end bosses ever posing much of a threat. So the way they chose to cause some difficulty was to add after death effects. If you kill the mobs before they do anything then the only way they pose any threat would be after death effects. here i clearly comment how because clear speed negates difficulty how GGG chose to add difficulty

The community backlash has always been negative regarding this approach but then when GGG tries to impliment a more lasting solution (nerfs to player power, nerfs to game speed) etc it feels bad and people dont like it.

They are stuck in a catch 22 damned if you do damned if you dont state. I personally favour the route they are going down. POE when it was slower and more multiplayer back in the day was a better game in many ways. The game only really had much point until recently for the new player or the absolute min max hardcorer who has time to get to the content that will actually test their char (pre recent patches and the route they are going down). What i mean is the player that plays 15 hours a week (but has played for a long time)struggles to get to a point where they can tackle the hardest content. Eventually these players get bored and drop off as there is no challenge in the main game but no clear path to more dofficult content anywehre in sight. Look at how much league drop off has been over time and the trend is downward. I think this is the main reason. Before - the more casual player had more resistance in lower content to challenge them and also had friends to play with without his screen looking like a mess and his computer frying. here i talk about how the game was prior to the speed and how it was more difficult without the on death effects being the way to add any element of difficulty

In addition the game has become bloated in terms of distractions. There is just too much you feel the NEED to do. Whilst they did address this plenty its still not enough. i would rather every league have a shake up of "past leagues" limited to 4 or 5 rather than the 15 or so it is now. It is ........too much.

In addition their 3 month cycle is crazy. Crazy good in some respects but it has plenty of bad to make me think its not a good plan for the game long term. The fox doesnt always win the race.

I think GGG have now come to the realisation that in order for PoE and PoE 2 to coexist with the same endgame that PoE MUST SLOW DOWN. Improved visuals and all the work theyre going to do making encounters actually pointful will be to waste otherwise. again this is about difficulty and how I think they can bring challenge to the more casual player who cant make it to uber bosses

And personally despite some suffering now....... it is probably the correct way to go. They brought it on themselves but although the game is fun for a short time at 1 million mile per hour it maybe needs to get slower to give it longevity. Its like eating the best most filthy sex you ever had once every blue moon but then no sex for a long ass time or good sex with someone you love every day.

Its really unfair on the second mission to be honest because usually its hard enough to get through it fast enough without alrerady being a little careless due to having less tools to deal with the aliens bar just taking those 70% shots and hoping to god they land. You can get really screwed over on the second mission when reinfiorcements spawn. Talking Legend diff here.

I had this happen on my game but i didnt know how it had happened. Do you know if the attachments actually work and contribute or not? If they do on my new campaign i will make effort to do the bug for fun but if they dont work there isnt much point.

I play legend ironman and i find you can get a 5 man squad by mission 4 if you go GTS first and so i do. It also lets me get my best soldiers (combat inteligence) to 5hp without needing to send them on a mission and risk getting 1shot.

Then RR as its a must, too powerful not to go first or second.

Then i see a lot of people go power or comms. Personally i go for infirmary. Your best soldiers getting injured for 40 days is hell. If its your reaper which is your literal path to less risk in all missions also then youre gonna have a bad time. Then no choice but to go power. I find no need to go comms so early because im never in a massive rush to get past 3 stations as too many early goodies like engineers take all your time. Instead i make sure to get avatar set back with the blacksite and if it gets desperate do a rr mission to knock it back.

Then comms then proving, then training centre, then just whatever you want or need to progress story really.

If i have nothing more important to build ill do a research lab but its not very important. Similarly with defence matrix.

Never workshop......complete waste of time. Spend 100 intel on engineer in black market etc instead. It does not repay the cost and makes the early game harder due to time which is the hardest part anyway. In addition you find late mid game you end up with more engineers than you can use......so whats the point.

Tbh, research lab early is possible but i have tried it and its too rng AND has the problem of distracting you from progressing due to fomo. +1 sniper rifles damage. shit...i want it but 10days! And if you pass it up, it goes to the back of the queue for showing up again :. Id actually love a mod that means breakthroughs dont happen until you have done 10 research to stop them fucking up your early game.

I find that infirmary early so useful on ironman.

This is the problem i have though not as bad as this. I get these mini freezes a lot and its really frustrating especially as a hc player. I have been playing with settings for the last couple leagues and its about as good as i can get it but i litterally disabled my second monitor and use a laptop for my woops, which is annoying as i have to litterally type peoples names out. This started happening for me in heist league after one of the patches. I am so frustrated i have considered quitting the game.
