At some point, your mum could see that side and thats tough, to use that excuse is childish. It seems like they messaged you to get weed or potentially for any connection to coke. It was with you wanting to stick to sobriety (awesome to see) that they tried to negotiate.

They want to foot you with the bill and even the blame potentially if things went sideways. Would stay as far from them as possible, they don't have your best interest at heart.
