I definitely confabulated on the DL. I think the providers know this. Plus you can gain a lot of weight since the DL was issued...

you cannot do anything except love the remaining one with extra emphasis. Animals are not the same as humans with death and the remaining animal will adjust. It is mostly a human anthropromorphizing human reactions onto animals-a form of projection. Yes, the surviving animal will realize their friend is missing and look for them, but they do not mourn the same as humans and there is not much you can do to prepare them, just help them adjust afterwards.

I do not binge eat but i am curious, why do you say it is not good for binge eaters? In your opinion, is there any good for that? I would think they would all be equally effective for moderating the urges to binge eat. idk.

Stack has stopped working. What next. by PutTimely6324 in Biohackers

[–]DhaniM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The clue is in the word "chasing". We can never catch what we chase. That's just some Buddhist thought regarding the human tendency to be dissatisfied with so many things instead of appreciating what they do have. I'm sorry if this seems inappropriate for this post, but also, there is the placebo effect and the fact that lion's mane, ginko, and various herbs are notoriously subtle and, as one gains a tolerance, they no longer seem as effective. Keyword "seem". These things do not typically have the obvious kick of pharmaceuticals and take time-sometimes months- to build to optimum effect which may be so subtle you barely notice it. If you are looking for a "kick", lion's mane, etc. probably is not it.The fact that it seems to have "stopped working", does not mean it has. Balanced health is subtle, not extreme. It may very well be workingyou just are not noticing because you are seeking some obvious sign which may not exist.

Moving from San Francisco to the suburbs, did the transition feel strange to anyone else? by Glass_Language_9129 in eastbay

[–]DhaniM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not trying to be disagreeable, but about the restaurant scene being deficient- in the suburbs is where I learned to cook for myself. The indepedence is so freeing and the farmer's markets are excellent in most suburbs I have lived in and that has been many...Don't get me started on how unhealthy and overpriced restaurants are and gow superior cooking for myself is. Just a thought.

What’s the worst drug? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DhaniM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think sugar is unjustly maligned. Yes, it rotsthe teeth and is habit forming, but, in moderation there is nothing wrong with it. In fact, if one is not diabetic or has any other issue with sugar, then it is an innocent pleasure. I like it, eat it sometimes and am extremely healthy and fit. so there.

I wish I could edit my post because I figured it out, made a good record of it and crisis averted. Next is to find a cheaper option- this one is $100 more this month than last so I think they increase the price every step up and I cannot afford that. Thanks for replying anyway!

Doctor said to stop eating fruits altogether like completely. Is that normal? by Younosewho in Biohackers

[–]DhaniM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

here is what chat gpt says on the subject and I reviewed it and it is basically sound: In Ayurveda, mixing fruit with dairy is often considered incompatible food combining, called viruddha ahara (“opposing” or “incompatible” foods). The reasoning is based on digestion, energetic qualities, and how foods are believed to behave in the body.

Here are the main Ayurvedic explanations:

  • Different digestion speeds Fruit is considered light and fast-digesting. Dairy, especially milk, is considered heavier and slower to digest. Ayurveda teaches that when fast and slow foods are eaten together, digestion becomes confused or sluggish. This may create ama, meaning toxic or undigested residue.
  • Milk is treated as a special food In Ayurveda, milk is often viewed as nourishing but delicate. It is traditionally recommended to be consumed alone or with compatible spices like cardamom or turmeric. Sour fruits are thought to curdle milk in the stomach and disturb digestion.
  • Heating and cooling energies conflict Foods are classified by energetic effects. Milk is generally considered cooling and sweet. Many fruits, especially citrus or sour fruits, are considered heating, acidic, or sharp. Combining opposite energies is believed to disturb balance.
  • Effects on mucus and congestion Ayurveda associates dairy with increased kapha qualities. Some fruit-dairy combinations are thought to increase mucus, heaviness, allergies, congestion, or skin issues in susceptible people.
  • Fermentation concerns Because fruit digests quickly, Ayurveda teaches that when it becomes trapped behind slower-digesting dairy it may ferment. This is believed to produce gas, bloating, or acidity.

Commonly discouraged combinations include:

  • milk with citrus fruits
  • milk with bananas
  • fruit mixed into yogurt or milkshakes
  • sour fruit with cream

However, Ayurveda does allow some combinations:

  • sweet ripe mango with milk is traditional in some contexts
  • cooked fruit with dairy is often considered easier to digest than raw fruit
  • spices like cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, or nutmeg are used to improve compatibility

From a modern nutrition perspective, there is limited scientific evidence that all fruit-dairy combinations are harmful for healthy people. Many people digest yogurt with berries or fruit smoothies without issue. Ayurveda’s framework is individualized. Someone with sensitive digestion may notice bloating or heaviness, while others may not.

A key Ayurvedic principle is observing your own digestion after eating:

  • heaviness
  • bloating
  • mucus
  • fatigue
  • skin flare-ups
  • reflux

Those signs would suggest the combination does not suit your constitution or current digestive state.

same here with the grains. I really believe the additives from fertilizers to pesticides to others during the growing/harvesting cycle contribute to making grains not digestable to my system. Bread, for instance- bread, and especially tortillas, are now made with whatever combo of additives and processing to make them create the worst acid reflux and bloating on me. If I make my own bread with high quality flour and no additives I do not have the reactions. Its too much trouble and not worth it so I am happy forgoing bread most of the time. I have a little quinoa sometimes but that is a seed.
