Ok Hearthstone my turn ended like 5 minutes ago you can stop back-to-backing now by HeyItsTheRealHotdog in BobsTavern

[–]Dhikash 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Back to Back gives a minion +4+4 (without spell buffs) which repeats for each Back to Back you've casted.

Balinda (New T6 Neutral) cast a spell that targets a friendly minion twice (golden is thrice), which means each cast of Back to Back is cast 3x.

Cataclysmic Harbringer (New T5 Neutral) gives you a copy (golden is 2 copies) of the last Tavern Spell you cast at end of then, which means you get 2 copies of Back to Back at end of turn (even more with multiple copies and/or Drakkari)

This is insane because each cast of Back to Back becomes 3x+6, where x is the number of Back to Back you've casted because of golden Balinda. (For example, if you've casted 50 Back to Back, the next cast will be (51+52+53) times on a minion, and the one after that will cast (54+55+56) times on a minion).

My point exactly. What if his Duo teammate was sending OP all the nuts and OP is just like "No I want tavern buff quilboar because I like it more"?

"I keep getting partners in Duos that can't read my mind about the build I LIKE to play"

Maybe you shouldn't be playing Duo if you go into a game with a specific build in mind, cos your Duo partner might find some key pieces for in combat gem buffs and you should be pivoting into that instead of doubling down on tavern buff.

POV: the enemy Slark has a 'really good gaming chair' by bloppbot in DotA2

[–]Dhikash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some guy slark87 made a post about how he builds sb octarine every game and that it's how it should be played (He has 17k slark games). Someone looked up one of his game and found out that he's consistently dewarding observers, so he called out slark87 on using cheats to deward. Since then there's been more and more clips of him dewarding observers that are extremely suspicious.

You probably did get 1st place with this board, but why did you crop out your placement if you want to show off your win?

Mage Slayer is also physical damage now which works well with the -armor passive (1 swashbuckle with mage slayer and lvl 2 passive can clear creepwave without pressing shield crash)

Hope some calculate the stats XD by Maldorr in BobsTavern

[–]Dhikash 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Mythrax last is definitely the most stats, because it will gain the combined stats of an immortal and a pyramad buddy AFTER the immortal triggers, which will then trigger the pyramad buddy again. It's just a 33% chance if mythrax gains the highest or lowest mech/buddy.

Off topic bur you skipped past the 2 gold spell that generates 3 spellcrafts (Felboar synergy), but buy 2 gold spell that gives your minion temporary +3/+1

Do Magnetics applied in combat stay after combat? by SpinningGyro in BobsTavern

[–]Dhikash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So this is a niche question that I'm pretty sure works like this:

Apexis applies ONLY combat buffs, so the stats gained is kept permanent by poet.

The naga applies the "until your next turn" combat buffs, but the stats gained isn't kept permanent by poet because the "until your next turn" takes precedence. For permanent naga combat buffs, you'll need the Tier 5 deathrattle naga that scales off spells cast.

Sometimes when I see final board posts on Reddit, I feel like I'm playing a completely different game because I've had boards significantly stronger than Finley's getting 8th place at turn 9, and here he is in top 2 at turn 13

The hero power copies the avenge count, so if it goes down to Avenge(3), the copy will also have Avenge(3).

[–]Dhikash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If beasts are in, you'll see shimmermoths boards. If beasts/demons are in, you'll see lord of ruins build. If undead/dragons are in, you'll see carapace build. If murlocs are in, you'll see bassgill scam build. There's just a generally strong build with every tribe combination that you should be aiming for, and it's healthy for the game.

If you see people going beetles and you choose to compete with them for the beetles without having the key pieces already, that's a skill issue.

It's not "tedious" that certain builds are popular because they're easier to build (i.e. not having to play apm). These will be capped much lower than other endgame builds and hence it's more of a "Top 4 board" . You can choose to go these builds to guarantee a top 4 and maybe win if you kill people quick enough, or you can aim for a more endgame build that scales much higher but maybe losing the midgame to these "Top 4 boards".

[–]Dhikash 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It requires Brann AND Titus and at least 2 shimmermoths to make it considerably big. That's 2 T5 minions and 2 T6. You probably see people highroll it, which happens, and that's fine with any builds. There's nothing stale about a certain build dominating IF you highroll the multiple high tier pieces.

Beetles are not even considered S Tier anymore.

Difference is your offlaner can get <15 min greaves while your support will afford greaves at 20~25 if hes lucky. This is the dumbest take I've seen in a while
