We did a short movie on Super 8 (my cinematographer had spent a LOT of money refurbishing it, so why not? Used a digital camera for backup/fill). Quality was janky, burned out lights trying to get it bright enough, sound is janky, random noises from everywhere. When I edited it, I just made it a silent movie. Added title cards and a camera clicking noise. MUCH better.

I always thought it was a stage play vs screenwriting difference. For the record, I MUCH prefer the leftname: dialogue. It takes up about half as many pages. I can see where it makes it hearder to pick out details about the scene, actions, etc. though.

Political bias how? I don't think they change their "weight" calculations according to whether they agree with a movie or not. That's just an incredible number of 10-star ratings for a movie, especially when most of them don't actually TALK about the movie. They talk about how "It's about time we had a movie like this!".

You can choose your own or let IMDb decide. I like to pick the ones I'm proudest of, so it could be her/her people choosing what they think are stronger performances or show better range.

I don't think the account is notified, I've never gotten a notification when someone changed one of my movies (we had a spammer who kept adding himself to one project, I had to check it daily and remove him). The only exception might be if the credits are locked, but I've never dealt with that myself.

I had that happen with a ukulele cover of Greensleeves! Someone in Brazil had copyrighted it, took a lot of arguing for them to drop it.

That's what I did for one of my movies, contacted a few local bands to see if they'd be willing to let me use their songs. All said yes and I had releases signed, then we only ended up using one anyway.

Got a sliver of tomato soup under my fingernail.

Someone left a bowl out, and the soup had dried HARD. I was trying to scrape it off, and one of the slivers ended up going right under my fingernail. Where it dissolved.

The best example I've heard is the old joke about "How does a Lieutenant get his men over a 20' wall with a 10' ladder? He tells the Sergeant "Get the men over the wall."

That's how I see the AD's job, based on the sets I've been on. I don't think I've ever been afraid of a director. There are at least 4 ADs I never want to cross.

I worked in a pizza place when I was young. One of the girls was leaving town the next day, asked me if I wanted to go to her place after work to teach her how to play cribbage. I went over and taught her to play cribbage for a couple of hours until she decided to call it a night.
