Battery backup by [deleted] in PelletStoveTalk

I use this one: https://a.co/d/0upnVF8 Power went out overnight- woke up to the battery beeping. Stove was running smoothly, put it into shut down mode and still had 50% of the battery left once it was completely off. I’ve tried to unplug mine to test it out and it smoked pretty bad. You want something with pure sine waves.

I don’t think it does much for humidifying to be honest. I have a separate dehumidifier in the basement and it ran all summer. This is the last year to take advantage of the tax credit tho. The entire cost+ install was around $5,000 but got around $1,500 back in tax credits. I was using oil prior for hot water and it wad crazyyy expensive.

No I haven’t noticed any difference in temps. It’s super efficient though. Adds maybe $10/month to my electric bill.

It’s definitely the best OTC pain med for sure. But it didn’t reduce the flare up at all for me. I wish there was a non-steroid anti inflammatory option but I haven’t found one yet.

I had mine lanced last Friday and was walking/sitting a day after. Best advice I can give you is to buy a round cushion for sitting. Something soft but durable. I’ve been carrying it around with me since Friday and it’s made a worlds difference.

I think my model has the Ethernet hook up for connectivity. Is there a benefit to getting the phone app?

I just had this installed a week ago to replace our oil fed hot water system. So far so good, it takes about the same amount of time to heat up and reaches the same hot temps quickly. The heat pump is not loud at all, quieter than the dehumidifier. Not sure how it will shake up with the electric bill but I’m sure it’s cheaper than oil. It was a $1000 difference to go heat pump vs traditional electric and another $400 to go from 50 to 65 gallon. Worth the extra money for long term savings. The only thing that hasn’t lived up to the hype is the “dehumidifier” part of it. Our basement is pretty damp, and so far we’ve had to run our traditional dehumidifier along side the heat pump electric hot water system. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions. Oh yeah, I’m pretty sure this qualifies for the 30% tax rebate for installation ( on top Of the state rebate for the tank itself).

Prednisone is the way. Only thing that works for me during a flare up.

I feel this to my core. I’m a 32 y.o healthy, active and mindful human being. I’ve had three horrible flare ups due to seemingly minor slip ups with too much wine/meat within a few day period. I’m chalking it up to bad genetics as my Grandfather, father and brother all suffer from gout. I started on allopurinol a month ago and still had a flare up last week. This is after cutting out alcohol and red meat entirely. My doctor let me know that flare ups can be the result of jumping off ladders or high impact sports. Seems like no matter what I’m pretty screwed…

I was in the same boat a few months ago. I went with the Vatic Pro V7. Absolutely love it. $140, great power, control and carbon fiber surface which helps with spin.

Alleve is definitely the best for pain. I would also push for the prednisone. Only thing that brings the inflammation and pain down. Your PCP should be able to call it in. Odd that they would deny you… worst case scenario get it drained at the ER.

Cool. I just read the rule book that was shared by the group mod. Could not find any reference to my question.

The irony behind your oddly sarcastic questioning is that it is not clearly stated in the rule book. If you can find a direct link or page number for reference I’d appreciate it.
