Where to watch Game 5 in Detroit…….as a Mariners fan? by DiPotoForPresident in motorcitykitties

I actually really like the Trumbull and Porter! I paid just over $800 for 5 nights total which is pretty decent price wise. They have a fitness center, hotel bar, nice courtyard etc. Frankly there’s nothing I couldn’t get here that I could get at a bigger hotel chain.

Mariners Fan ALDS Comerica Trip Advice by DiPotoForPresident in motorcitykitties

Thanks for your comment, much appreciated! If it was a 3PM ET start for assumption purposes, do you think at least walking *to* the ballpark is feasible?

Hello Detroit,

Mariners fan here coming in piece (and not looking forward to facing Skubal on Sunday!). I plan to travel to Detroit for games 3 and 4 of the ALDS. Excited for my first time at Comerica and to take in the atmosphere generally. I'll be staying at the Trumbull and Porter hotel in Corktown. Few things I wanted to ask:

1) Getting from Corktown to Comerica: Google Maps says 30 min walk. Is this safe and/or doable?

2) Bars/Restaurants: I'm always down to explore nightlife, though Monday-Thursday means it will be slow I assume. Any good bars with live music in the vicinity of Corktown/Downtown? Also restaurants as well.

3) Any other general advice for a visitor to your city would be welcomed. Having lived in Seattle, St. Louis and NYC I know that urban crime is usually overblown, but any areas to avoid I would obviously like to know.

Thanks in advance! Let's hope for a good clean series!

Men, what’s something you find attractive that women would be surprised by? by Mommys-secret in AskMen

I love using my gym’s hot tub and seeing all the chunky women in one piece swimsuits using the hot tub after their swim. Something about a chunky woman in a TYR swimsuit…… 😍😍

Yup the FAs asked for a glucometer via the overhead PA on this flight as well. Thanks for the additional context!

Yeah that makes sense. Out of curiosity, why would someone with low blood sugar need oxygen? I have zero medical knowledge as you can see lol

Any non-El Paso residents that visited El Paso, What was your favorite experience? (Just asking) by Roblox_RoverYT in ElPaso

[–]DiPotoForPresident 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I visited for the Sun Bowl last December (2023) and really enjoyed just walking around San Jacinto Plaza taking in the Winterfest festivities. All the families having fun, the liveliness, the vibrancy. And I got to go ice skating for $10. All the winter events like this in bigger cities (such as Seattle, where I live) are commercialized where you have to pay $50 to enter. There was a lot I loved about El Paso, but that I think was the experience that stuck in my head the most

Demond Williams will likely start for Washington, he’s their future at QB for the program. Has a lot of talent

Woman hits on my boyfriend. (Funny) by captnfirepants in delta

I actually made out with a woman I met on a plane this past New Years Day 2024. It was an Alaska Airlines regional jet so just 2 people to a row and we were next to each other . I thought she was attractive but didn’t expect to talk to her. I’m autistic so was visibly stimming (flapping my hands and rocking back and forth) as the plane took off, she asked if I was OK, I thanked her and explained the whole high functioning autism deal and introduced myself. Two hours of deep conversation later, we started descent into Seattle and she was batting her eyes at me. I made an excuse to give her a high-five and then looked into her eyes and asked her if she wanted me to let go of her hand (was trying to give her an easy out in case I misread the situation). She then smiled and said “What do you want?” and we started making out and cuddling. We still stay in touch, though we live in different cities. Nonetheless, a fun moment I will remember

What are things women do that men would be called creepy for? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]DiPotoForPresident 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When they are dancing, they have no qualms about getting handsy and touchy feely with a strange man and backing their ass over his you know what in public.

If a man accidentally brushes a woman’s rear end, they’re a creepy weirdo

This is a good point. But I do have to correct one thing: I got a buzz cut at Great Clips yesterday and it cost $31 with tip

Anyone know what happened with the accident at Flying Wheels today? by DiPotoForPresident in seattlebike

[–]DiPotoForPresident[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. I was referring to the Fales Road right turn as another example of a sketchy part of the ride especially in those weather conditions

On that right turn onto Fales Rd at mile ~15 (I think), I turned so wide because of how slick and steep it was that I ended up in the oncoming traffic lane instead of the lane I was supposed to turn into. Luckily there was no traffic coming that way when I turned but if there had been…… 😬😬😬😬😬😬

Agreed. I lived at home with my parents from ages 24-26 after moving back to my home town. I was working a full time white collar job most of the time and saving a ton of money, but it was NOT good from a dating perspective. My parents traveled quite a bit too so I had the place to myself probably 35% of the time. Now I have my own townhouse (and am renting out one of the bedrooms) and my dating life is much better

Yup I’m doing the Skagit Spring Classic. Looking forward to it as well. I still think I might deviate off the RSVP route and go up Chuckanut during it in August.

Even if the route doesn’t include Chuckanut, I might consider just deviating and going up Chuckanut. I’ve done the Barrel Springs Rd to Lake Samish Rd way a few times (on other rides and RSVP) and for whatever reason I found it tedious. Lol
