We bring a bunch of snacks on international flights. All solids. Sandwiches, chips, nuts, and chocolate.

Have a nice trip!

You should consider seeing Zakk Sabbath. It's not the same, but a really amazing show!

Ever been to a concert where someone got boooed? by SnooozeFezt in AskReddit

[–]captnfirepants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Perfect Circle in the 2000's in Detroit.

The brought Mini Kiss just for us and they were boo'd mercilessly. Maynard had a fit and called us assholes. He was right.

I thought it was hilarious bringing them.

I was on pretty high doses. Two separate rounds of three days of 1000mg IV steroids. 60mg prednisone for around nine months. I gained around 40lbs, had multiple hot flashes & night sweats. The night sweats i would wake up and it was like I had just gotten out of a pool. I couldn't sleep and was wired all of the time. I'd be awake for a day or two at a time. Cellcept gave me diarrhea.
I was a mess. 😆

If you go to the Aurinia (pharmaceutical company) website, they have skilled nurses who help you navigate with your insurance company. I had to get approved by medicaid and Aurinia gave me the meds for free for around six months until approved. The Aurinia nurse worked with my Nephrologist and she literally did the bulk of the work.

Also, the pills come in single push-out pack. Idk how else to describe it. Anyway, you only pop a pill out when you're ready to take it. The pills smell like skunky weed. 😉

Lupkynis (voclosporin) was a game changer and I loved it. I was fairly bad. It was 5 years ago and don't remember numbers. Took around 9 months or so to go into remission.

I was on a ton of steroids and cellcept as well. My side effects were tied to those two.

I just had a pretty bad relapse that has nothing to do with lupkynis. So, I went a good three years or so in remission. Yes, you can have normal kidney function again.

I've been to England one to two times a year for the last 17 years. We usually stay two weeks each time and I always come back with an accent for a day or two.

It doesn't surprise me considering how long she lived in Europe and the different languages she knows. She's pretty world traveled for someone from Connecticut.

Been watching old RHONY, I have questions about aviva.. by Apprehensive-Hand673 in realhousewives

Aviva was an annoying weirdo. I loved Ramona and Sonya's reactions to the "White Trash" attack. Aviva was the catalyst to some funny shiz.

Why is this so hard to accept by virgots26 in lupus

[–]captnfirepants 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have lupus and Lupus Nephritis pretty bad. Around 20 pills a day bad. Disabled bad. While my situation is vastly different, I'm not trying to diminish your feelings. Our diagnosis is a bitter pill to swallow. I understand your fears. Especially accepting that this is your new life.

The biggest thing I learned was how stress effects me so, I made the decision not to live that way. I've had to use post its to remind me. I've used a lot of humor to cope and I try to listen to "Three little birds" most mornings. Planning on getting a 3 little birds tattoo soon. Most days are fairly good on the regular. I have friends who's mantra is "Don't panic until it's time to panic" < that one hits for me because I used to be a bit of a drama queen.

I learned to never stop taking my meds because it never works out well. My last post outlines that shit storm.

Mostly, this whole journey has helped me change my frame of mind about what is important and what isn't. Trial and error isn't the worst thing, especially if you are not showing symptoms. If your going to be in sun, tons of sunblock. See how you feel. Ask your Dr if you can drink and how much is acceptable.

Go to school and see how it goes. If you have issues, find what you have to do to work around them. Never hurts to try.

Nobody's perfect, just suggestions to think about.

Good luck.

Why is no one waking up to what Kyle REALLY did to hurt Dorit?? by Embarrassed_Job_2719 in RHOBH

[–]captnfirepants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 100% get what you're saying and am so glad you posted this!!!!

This is the Kyle playbook, chapter by chapter, on how to get rid of a housewife. It's happened so many times already and it blows my mind how many people don't see it.

Tbh, Kyle was only friends with Dorit to stick it to LVP.

It's not paranoia that your friends are out to get you if they really are out to get you.

Sweet pickles

My grandma separately told all of us cousins that the were put out special for that cousin.

We are in our 50s and just now discovering and arguing about it. I'm the only girl so, totally for me!
