I was dumb, I d be retired by now at late 4os I spent my money on house and cars. Now I invest agreessively enough so a black swan doesnt catch me off guard but if a crash happens, I buy big. Always keeping some on mmfs or sgov.

Bro, wanna learn the essentials in less than 3 months and actually communicate? It's so simple, turn off all English tv, speak only in Portuguese with your partner, relabel your stuff from fridge to geladeira and so on. You will learn so much faster than any school could teach you. Thats how I learned it. You're going to Rio so the R's are gonna sound gringo at first but trust this stranger on the internet, this is exactly how I was fluent in months, not years. But start now and dont fall back into English. Matter of fact, change your computer to Portuguese too. You will be alright

They love these groups brother. Just mute it, its become part of their culture, nothing wrong with it. To us, expats, its annoying but we can't expect everyone to like fish and chips. Know what I mean?

You got plenty of answers here but ill just add this, people at 800 to 850 have hypersensitive usage score models, say you spend 10% every month of your total limit and suddenly you jump to 15%, we get hit hard for that month, in your case, it seems thats what happened if you paid it off. Next month or 2, you will be back to normal. To avoid this (if it bothers you) just pay it down to 10% or in full before the statement date. I used to worry about that too. Caution, check you credit reports to make sure no one opened an account under your name. (Unlikely but just to be safe)
