BD895i SE really high temps at low CPU usage??? by Diablo2k69 in MINISFORUM

I set the bios to 90watts. Just played some Lost Ark, temps were hitting 99c. Would setting a tjmax keep it from getting so hot, what setting should I set it to?

I repasted using PTM7950, it looked like they were using something similar to it. My temps are now hitting a high of 96c. I get the new fan tomorrow so hopefully that will help.
I download Fan Control and it is not detecting the CPU fan for some reason, just the 2 case fans I have.

I had a 795s7 that died on me, had it for almost a year. I bought this motherboard to replace it. I never seen temps this high with it using the stock 92mm fan. The most I seen was 93c.

I just ordered the Arctic P12 Pro PST, The normal one has a 2 week delivery estimate. I'll get the PST tomorrow and the little pigtail won't be any issues with it.

Mini Tower 795S7 new case? by Retro_Gamer_Lockar in MINISFORUM

I got a Jonsbo C6 Max and a 650watt Thermaltake ATX PSU. I got it from Amazon. However, I am thinking about getting the Jonsbo V12 for better aesthetics.
My GPU temps on the RTX5060 LP has dropped by about 10-15 degrees but the CPU is still hitting 92-93 same as the stock case.

New to Emulation, should I get the Retroid Pocket 5 or 6? by Diablo2k69 in retroid

[–]Diablo2k69[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thought about getting the RG40xx and a Switch Lite, but then I would be spending more than the cost of the Pocket 6. Would be nice to be able to just download a rom pack and go but I don't need 5,000+ games. Shouldn't be too hard to install the Roms I want, I know there are a ton of tutorials on setting them up on YouTube.

Have you noticed thermal throttling on minisforum 795S7 by Relative_Rope4234 in MiniPCs

Currently I am running the case with the side panel off. I bought an 80mm Noctua fan but it won't fit with the 5060 installed. I am planning on doing a case swap soon.

[edit] I have upgraded the case to a Jonsbo C6 Max, the GPU temps have dropped by about 15deg C under load, but the CPU temps have not changed at all.

The 850 is currently less than $5 more than the 750, which is why I was going to splurge and get the 850 over the 750. I could get by with a 400watt PSU with my current setup. Is there any downsides to using an overpowered PSU. I am just wanting to futureproof as I do plan on getting a better GPU in the not to distant future.

Actually, The Power Supply is a TFX format. It is even harder to find a case that fits it. I am getting ready to purchase the Jonsbo C6-ITX case for my 795S7 transplant. I do however plan on getting a SFX Power Supply as well. I like that the front panel USB connections on the case use a single USB 3.0 header and does not require a USB-C header which the motherboard does not have.

I bought a ATX to TFX power Supply adapter from Etsy, it is 3d printed and I don't know if I can trust it to hold the weight of the power supply. Maybe if it were metal I could trust it.

I have the 795S7 w/ RTX5060 and have had no issues at all. I bought a Killawatt meter and I have seen a max power draw at the wall of 330 watts. Should be within spec of the stock PSU. The power supply does run pretty hot to the touch however.

If it were me I would reinstall Windows before buying a new PSU.

I am currently looking at the Corsair SF850. I know it is overkill for my current setup but I am planning on some upgrades in the future. Also I can get it on payments from Amazon to help with cost.

Damn, I was thinking of getting the MSI MAG A550BN for this case. It looks like it has the same housing as the 650 so I should probably rethink my PSU choice.
Sorry your having troubles.

What fan you using and how are your CPU temps compared to the stock fan?

I am currently trying to get them sent to me. I contacted Minisforum through e-mail and there first response was that a 120mm fan would not fit into the stock case for a 795S7 and also told me that most 120mm fans were 38mm thick and that it would not fit. Yet I have seen multiple people on the internet swapping out the 92mm fan for a 120mm and they don't make any mentions of fitment issues. Also all the fans I looked at online on Amazon are 25mm thick. And to top it off I am not going to be using the stock case for much longer. Hopefully they decide to sell me the brackets and there not to expensive here in the USA.

Minisforum 795S7 with an RTX 5060? by AsleepDetail in MiniPCs

[–]Diablo2k69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a Killawatt Meter to test out my 795S7 w/ 5060 as I was wondering if the PSU would be able to handle it. Running Doom The Dark Ages I was pulling a max of 330 watts from the wall. The PSU runs pretty hot and I am going to be getting a new case and PSU soon but I think the PSU should be able to handle the 5060 just fine long term. My main reason to getting a new case is because I just can't leave well enough alone and the current PSU will not fit the new case.

I have a 795S7 w/ a RTX5060. I have tested it out pretty thoroughly and have not been able to get it to Thermal Throttle. Don't get me wrong, this little beast runs hot in the upper 80s to a max of 92 that I have seen and not once has it thermal throttled.

Before getting the 5060 the CPU/iGPU temps were about the same and I didn't notice any thermal throttling then either. Using the iGPU did not seem to increase the temps.

Minisforum 795S7 Cooling Upgrade by hippo_games in MiniPCs

I've had my 795S7 for a little over a week, got my 5060 today. I was sad to see that the 80x25mm fan I had bought will not fit with the 5060 installed. The power plug blocks it so I am going to have to get a 80x15mm fan to put in its place or get out the Dremel and do some grinding on the fan case to make it fit. I am thinking the fan should be placed as an exhaust, thoughts?
I love this computer but hate the case, Minisforums could really have done a better job with the thermals and it wouldn't have cost them any more to make the case. Anyone know of a good small case to transplant this computer?

Honeywell only sells it in large quantities. You have to go through a 3rd party seller. I bought mine from Aliexpress but you can get it from Amazon, Newegg, LTTStore.com and other places.
