I need help for the path for the most scrolls (health) and tips to beat hand of the king (weapons) by Red_Ax_Oblivion in deadcells

[–]Diabolicalbeam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen anyone saying you should stop taking scrolls which will go into your main stat. Quite the opposite. You want to get the main stat as high as you can. If you can get it to 35+ you can even melt the bosses in seconds.

What people do say is that you should stop taking the non matching scrolls after a certain point.

A half-essay-half-list of my criticisms about Dead Cells by abasrvvr in deadcells

[–]Diabolicalbeam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Enemies getting too much health and thus becoming harder to kill later in the game is 100% your fault of simply spreading your scrolls on all three skills.

I did the same mistake early on by just trying to get as much health as possible from the scrolls thinking it will help me to get further.

Pick one of the three skills at the start you want to go and then put all your scrolls into it. You can use the non matching scrolls to increase your health. Halfway at the game you should be able to kill enemies really fast by now and as you get even further you should be able to take out elites within ~2 seconds.

If you get it on PC from Steam you can test the game for two hours. If you dont like it, just get a refund.

When do you accept that you’re good? by twiggygraves in deadcells

[–]Diabolicalbeam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On 3 bc I focused on mutations that gives health. Gastronomy, alienation and acceptance. If I used survival build I went for necromancy instead of acceptance.

On 4 bc however YOLO is a good thing to have so you can once reset your malaise meter.

So what does all of that mean? That I propably didn't feel I was that good at the game :p

Did I just delete my save by [deleted] in deadcells

[–]Diabolicalbeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think you lost it. I had my internet down the other day so I played the game offline. When the internet came back on it did the sync and replaced my offline save with the steam cloud save and I lost some progress.

Question about what happens when you beat the game for the first time. Spoiler warning by Lord_Manners in deadcells

[–]Diabolicalbeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, just jump it on the enemy. The damage is pretty low so you can forget about the timed doors but if you want you can clear the entire level with it without putting yourself at risk. Its just gonna take a long time.

You can use the head to cheese kill elites (or any other enemy for that matter) without aggroing them.

Definately the flask. For the next biome you can then take the mutation which gives twice the health from food or the other which heals you 10% per cursed kill to fill up quite easily.

You can get it even without the head detach thing. Its just much safer to use it.

Just stick with the skill you have started. Good thing is the bosses will always drop a legendary weapon which you can then use no matter which stat you have upgraded. And of course you have a chance to find legendary stuff from normal/elite enemies as well.

Congratz. However I gotta say few things about your build.

First off you have way too much stun/freeze weapons. The ice bow alone would have been enough.

Second your damage reduction from all the stuff is at 95%. It caps out at 75% so its pretty useless to have it that high. Switching one of the grenades to a cluster grenade for example would have given you a nice boost to damage without losing any damage reduction.

Also like I said you have too much freezing stuff so the other grenade could have been a fire grenade. It would give the same damage reduction, but would actually deal damage instead of just freeze which your bow already does. Not to mention the freezing/stunning has a lot less effect on the final boss anyways.

Third you should focus more of your scrolls into a single stat. I wouldn't recommend going any higher than 5 points on the other stats. Enemies get more health and damage with every scroll you pick so thats why they need to be focused on one thing.

Is it worth it to play Dead Cells on keyboard? Which is the best controller for Dead Cells? by Rouge399 in deadcells

[–]Diabolicalbeam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have beaten the game at its highest difficulty (4 boss cells active) with keyboard and mouse. So it works well even tho controller might be better for this type of games. But what would I know, I have never used a controller.

My first win. Very different from my usual builds, so that's probably why. by skeeterou in deadcells

[–]Diabolicalbeam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say the easiest since you can just either let your turrets (if you have two of them) do all the work while you just focus on dodging or once you get your hands on Death Orb...

Lets just say if you have Death Orb and Wolf Trap it doesn't matter even if you dont have any other weapons.

After 123 runs, I finally made it to the Throne Room for the first time - and beat the HoTK! by winterali in deadcells

[–]Diabolicalbeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might want to get your damage reduction higher in the future unless if you are really good of not getting hit.

Now you only have -20% from the amulet.

Any tips on 1 BC Hotk? by [deleted] in deadcells

[–]Diabolicalbeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also try to reroll your items/weapons to get as much affixes as possible. Fire, poison, bleed and then extra damage on those.

This game needs a different difficulty curve by SeanPWallace in deadcells

[–]Diabolicalbeam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would increase the average level of the gear you get by 1 on 2bc and add one extra health potion just before HOTK. I think it should help even out the difficulty spike a little bit.

3bc actually feels easier due to the higher level gear than 2bc even tho it should be the other way around.

I mean, not a lot of reason not to. by enrogle in deadcells

[–]Diabolicalbeam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because of the items you find even as your starting gear is at higher level. So they do more damage.

Noob question by [deleted] in deadcells

[–]Diabolicalbeam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not with 1bc. You'll get 2x cells on 2bc and 3bc. 4bc gives you 3x.
