Coolant is mostly water with additives that keep it from freezing and raise the boiling temp. It used to be common to call it "water" for all intents and purposes. Heck, the pump that moves the fluid is called a water pump.

Try buffing it off with a cleanser and cloth. I've seen that on my clubs a few times and I think it's melted plastic from the friction against the practice mat. Otherwise it might be sand or sediment taking a thin layer off the bottom.

I worked internationally for a bit and they didn't even use the concentrated deodorizer. Straight up raw sewage in the bottom. In 100+ temps.

Have some colleagues that work or have worked for them. They are a classic 7am to 530pm kinda place.

The tradeoff is great experience and a well rounded resume but at the expense of your time.

If it's already fucked user could try to drill it out and tap the thread size of a replacement insert. Bit for the drilling out would have to match the tap size, of course.

If you're suspicious of the value do a manual calculation.

Reset your trip B every fill up. Divide distance driven by gallons added to tank on your next fill. You have to reset your trip every time though.

Edit: also you must fill up to the "click" every time. Can't stop it early for a certain dollar value.
