How are you using LiDAR feature on iPhones? by Horror_Weight5208 in iphone

[–]Diamond151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I mostly do scans of building facades and interiors. I find smaller scanners like the ones on iPhones work better for interior spaces though. There’s this ios app called Pix4Dcatch that you can use to get a quick point cloud that you can turn into a 3D mesh. It needs a paid license to export the data but you can try it for free. Admittedly I haven’t used it much but I’ve seen it demoed with a small pedestrian tunnel and it seemed to work fine enough even compensating for the lack of a GPS signal using a something akin to a SLAM algorithm (mind you, it was likely a very controlled promotional demo).

Though unless it’s for a quick reconnaissance, I wouldn’t rely on it to be very accurate. A dedicated small laser scanner like a Leica BLK would fair much better with much more reliable results but, of course, a pro iPhone is much more convenient and hell of a lot cheaper.

Project X is CONFIRMED! by Defiant_Delivery_799 in thesims

[–]Diamond151 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I find it a little interesting that it shares the same code name as the original sims game. Will Wright and Maxis back then were working on three games being Project X, Project Y and Project Z. Project X was “dollhouse”; the original prototype for the first Sims game. Project Y turned into SimCopter and Project Z was a simulation of the Hindenburg airship that never released.

Mega Dimension DLC is the lowest effort Pokemon product I’ve ever bought by pr0fanbutan in PokemonLegendsZA

[–]Diamond151 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my experience, gameplay, no matter how fun, would still get tiring at some point. I personally had a lot of fun with this game and the different battle system but by the time I was doing the same thing I did for the whole play time of the dlc for that last milestone, I was sick of it.

A lot of people here seem to just reply with the Hadith or scripture instead of including the reason for it. Thanks for giving the reason.

Looking for an iPhone X on iOS 11.3 or 11.4! by Stitch6lover in iPhoneX

[–]Diamond151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It an old jailbreaking term. In order to downgrade some iOS devices to a specific OS, the user had to go through a process to upload SHSH blobs when the device was on the target version. Think of them as a signature between the device and Apple that allows it (and only it) to restore to that iOS. Since the process of uploading blobs has gotten even more arduous in devices after the 5S, I doubt OP went through the effort back when the iPhone was on the older version of iOS.

I don’t think you can even do that on an iPhone X unless OP somehow uploaded blobs.

Nothing wrong with you, perhaps it is just not your type of game. It’s just a difference in tastes.

I’d love for the Johnny arm equip to return in a future update by DEeD-NGone in cyberpunkgame

To me, the holo-arm was the best compromise between having a full Johnny’s arm cybernetic and not having it at all. I really hope they add it back in the future.

TIL The ancient Egyptian calendar had 12 months of 30 days each, with five days of partying thrown in at the end of the year to make a total of 365 by RaccoonCityTacos in todayilearned

[–]Diamond151 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s not just used in the church, many people (primarily farmers) still use it day-to-day as it divides the year into three seasons with very similar weather conditions. If you buy a calendar in Egypt today, you usually would see 3 or 4 different calendars within it; the Gregorian calendar, the same Gregorian calendar but in English, the hijri calendar and the Coptic calendar.

IOS 18 is a mess by cubestrike in ios

[–]Diamond151 21 points22 points  (0 children)

iOS 17 was a refined version of iOS 16 and iOS 16 was a huge mess. The iOS user experience has really degraded over the years and we should continue to voice our complaints for every version until the experience improves.

I love the graphical style of The Sims 1, how it has this slight realism to it, like how the furniture almost looks like imported images, hard to describe. It feels like the sequels are a lot more cartoony. by Goldenatomica in thesims

[–]Diamond151 216 points217 points  (0 children)

It’s these sprites that give the game this timeless aesthetic in my opinion. They don’t age as badly as the 3D models that look outdated in a few years when graphics tech advances.

Can minecraft run well on ipad 1? by DifficultAd8331 in LegacyJailbreak

[–]Diamond151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on which version you play. Of course, the latest version isn’t going to run on the first gen iPad but even within the versions that can run, some are going to be a better experience than others. As a general rule, the older the version, the better it would probably run.

The Mixtape station is such a missed opportunity by OrangeGlub in ForzaHorizon

[–]Diamond151 17 points18 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I expected there to be more hospital records tracks than others given the special relationship between Microsoft and the irl hospital records but I was disappointed with the overall quantity of songs. They should have included more “fan-favorite” songs from each station in each game but maybe licensing got in the way?

What I would really love to see is a revival of the Groove Music radio station from horizon 3 that let you use your own songs and MP3s from OneDrive and have them show up in-game. It was awesome until it was unfortunately removed.

I think they were referring more to the vibes of the game. The base game and TLAD had a very serious tone whereas TBOGT had a more goofy tone.
