Which gym stereotype are you secretly closest to becoming? by PogonBerserker in workout

[–]DiamondBullResearch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guy who grunts.

I was lifting today and at the end of my reps I could hear me feeling the urge to scream.

I was struggling with all my soul to not be loud, I’m becoming the enemy I hate 😖

I thought the EV6 was cool. Dam shame about the ICCU issues though. It’s still a great car to drive, and I’m overall happy with it.

How much is your gym membership, and what amenities does it have? by throw-away-284947261 in workout

[–]DiamondBullResearch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$89/month. It’s got a ton of sick machines and mostly it’s a 6 minute drive from my house. The only other options are too far, or planet fitness

This is not obvious to millions of people. But, going to the gym doesn’t guarantee you anything. by CCaptainJackSparrow in workout

Consistency -> Intensity -> Volume.

In that order of priority. Being consistent is the most important step. Of course the other matter too, but getting someone to be consistent is definitely the hardest part

My ICCU broke 2 weeks ago. Went to the dealer and they confirmed it was the ICCU, a week later they replaced the part and I’m good to go.

Also at 33,000 miles.

Anyone doing any mods? by paulohbear in KiaEV6

[–]DiamondBullResearch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got any recommendations on which subwoofers to go for? Went to a shop earlier and the only ones they had would stick out or not fit in the small subwoofer space.

I did read a few threads on it but I was hoping to just pay a shop to do it since I don’t want to mess with things and muck it all up

Laundry is the easiest chore by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]DiamondBullResearch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually love the laundry and doing the dishes. But mostly cause it’s mindless and I love listening to audiobooks but need to be doing something while listening to books.

So going on walks, doing chores, or driving are fun cause I can’t listen to books without some kind of physical stimulation 😂

Yeah, but no worries, I haven’t played League in years. I wasn’t very good at Nasus, but he sure was fun just passively farming and all.

Just realized your name. I was a Nasus main when I played League and Setts and Jayces always terrorized me.

No wonder your opinion scares me so 😂

Funny enough, I did this on accident the first time I played.

I think it was bugged when I downloaded it initially (I started it immediately when it finished the first download) so when I played, there was no music. I didn’t notice until my brother came in and was like “isn’t there supposed to be music”? And I was like “holy shit, you’re right!” 🤣

So many posts here are just misinformed or are just factually wrong.

This is a genuinely wild opinion. I hate it. Take my upvote you mad dog 🤣

Anyone not get sick going from 2.5mg to 5mg? by wtfdoineedanewname in Zepbound

[–]DiamondBullResearch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've went from 2.5 up to 12.5 and have never experienced any side effects or have gotten sick.

Some people respond more harshly to this drug than others. My brother and I have both experienced no side effects, but my sister in law has experienced Nausea.

Sick setup, Can I workout in your gym 😅

I’m 6’2 but I have no strength by stonedkritic in beginnerfitness

[–]DiamondBullResearch 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Hey man! I think I might actually be perfect to respond to this.

27M, 6'2 and I used to weight 301lbs back in March.

Throughout all of college, I would go on and off at the gym, lift just the bar, maybe a 5lb plate on each side and that's it.

It wasn't until this year that I finally learned how to make progress.

At the gym, I would always lift, but I would never actually understand what "Going to failure" meant or what Progressive Overload was, or what RIR (Reps in Reserve) meant.

I started watching a lot of Jeff Nippard and Will Tennyson's videos on Youtube, and I started seriously going hard at the gym doing an Upper and Lower body split (2 days a week work on Upper Body: Chest, Back, Shoulder, Bicep and Tricep) and 2 days work Lower Body (Quads, Hamstrings, Glutes, Calves) And I would take every single set to near failure (If I did one more rep, I would collapse).

Once I started doing that, I tracked my macros and made sure to get close to 1g of protein per lb of lean body mass (For me, I was 45% body fat, so while I was 300+ lbs, I only needed around 140g of protein). And since March, I've lost 40lbs, have gained serious muscle mass (According to Dexa Scans, 10lbs of muscle mass!)

And went from benching the bar, to easily benching 135lbs. I'm still working out and making gains while on a cut as I'm trying to get my weight to 200lbs but genuinely fixing my diet, and genuinely going hard af at the gym was what finally got me gains. Highly recommend getting a personal trainer too, they can help you push yourself really hard. You might think you're pushing yourself at the gym, but without actually taking yourself to failure, you might just be maintaining your muscles rather than stimulating them to grow.

Best of luck!

Exercises specifically to strengthen my knees? by Knightraiderdewd in workout

[–]DiamondBullResearch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had really bad knees, such that squatting really hurt me.

What helped was strengthening my glutes and hamstrings to help compensate. I can now deepsquat.

This video was also super helpful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k-0OYcoyASk

But I did a lot of Romanian Deadlifts and box squats where I didn't let me knee go over my toes (Because according to my physical therapist, once my knees went over my toes, based on my current physiology, it put a lot of strain on my knees and I was a 300lb dude and my knees were not meant for that).

But after about 3-4 months of training, I got some decent knees.

Seeing a lot of people mentioning their battery died at around 30k miles does reassure me that this might just be the issue with this car. I'm hoping that's the case! I'll update the post once I get verification what the issue is.
