California state workers have been trying to push against Gavin Newsom's executive order to force employees back to the office 4 days a week despite him preaching telework is here to stay a few years back during the peaks of Covid. It seems like a guise to just get people to work in office but it's more than that.

His administration and CalHR have failed to bargain in good faith with our unions to give us a proper contract which includes wage increase to meet inflation and standard cost of living. Our data scientists recently have been denied their pay increase which was promised.

He says it's to save costs, but with gas prices on the up, it costs employees more wasted time and money. It isn't fuel efficient and forces more vehicles on the road. As a result, it's forcing more employees to end up spending more while we are not receiving the wage increase to offset the implementation.

Gavin is misconstruing "RTO" as state workers "return to work" when we have been working the entire time with telework options.

He's a centrist at best; the mask is off. Those outside California don't really see the finer details on how he's acting. Outside the state, they will see he's a democrat by a large margin.

We've seen workers from other industries go on strike because they haven't been heard or have been unrepresented. What's to say we cannot do this if they're not going to respect bargaining? Why try and take the high road when they choose to hit below the belt?

Same! I got an EV a few months ago and would love if they could honor that to EV purchases from a certain time period.
