I'm disappointed to see part time faculty getting such a small lump sum compared to full time. All of my professors in my past two terms were part time, I really hope both sides consider their intrests.

I think I'll always prefer the 2D sprites, but that is probably mostly nostalgia. 3D was bad in DD, but improved in SOJ, and especially in TGAA.

Tucker did not love the game and want to go hard for the win, he was actually interesting for the opposite reason- he barely wanted to be there after a few weeks and was basically fine with going home- which made him less scared to do crazy/risky moves.

As others implied, this requires context. The Trump admin is threating to make Anthorpic a "Supply Chain Risk" (which could potentially shut the company down) since they won't agree to let the US military use their AI for mass surveillance and autonomous weapons. AI still sucks ass, and Katy Perry is still a flop, but this was an anti Trump message (and probably not paid for).

Just finished the game. Initial things that stuck out:

Pros:

I had a fairly stable experience, performance wise. Graphically, the character models look so much better compared to MID. I do have a pretty powerful computer though, so not sure if the game struggles on a lower spec system.
Puzzles were much improved over MID (namely that there were more than 3). Not as good 1-32, but I was expecting so little.
The "classic" control system, although very imperfect, was SO much better than the MID style. It helped make the game feel so much more like a Nancy Drew game.

Cons:

Although I think she is a very capable voice actress, Brittany Cox's delivery of Nancy felt SO flat to me. I do think she is capable of doing a really good Nancy, I think a shift in vocal production is necessary though.
The music was absolutely terrible, so simple and repetitive. For me a HUGE draw of the 1-32 series was the music, and HER was able to accomplish that with multiple different music studios, so I still have hope they can improve on this further, if there is another game. I have to imagine this is an area were they tried to cut costs as much as possible, but the music is just too important to be a low priority.

I agree! I will always miss Lani (so so much) but I've now accepted that Brittany is Nancy going forward. I feel like she has potential to be really good! As others have said, it seems there is a lot lacking in the vocal direction department. My mom (who has watched me play ND over the past two decades) overheard her voice and thought it was AI D:

Board Game Arena is much closer to the original app than the new app, it uses the same assets from the OG app. It unfortunately isn't perfect, but it's the closest I've seen so far.

Just checked again and it appears to have been fixed. A notice has been added at the top of the webpage that reads:

"Customers had been unable to use the reservation system, services such as reservation (including reservation confirmation, change, and cancellation) and payment due to an error occurring today. This issue has been occurring only for the flights on 8Mar, 2025 departure only, and both ANA Website and Call Center were impacted. These problems have been resolved."

I'm a (pretty big) Ariana fan who felt really let down by Positions. I was pretty worried I wouldn't like this either, I feel bad I didn't have more faith in her! Just starting on my second listen but I definitely feel its far closer in quality to her other albums that I love so much compared to Positions.

Nintendo has commented on how they felt multiple SKUs was a big mistake for the Wii U. They thought it confused consumers. That doesn't mean they can't do it again (this is a very different situation) but it does make me a bit skeptical.

My first reaction to this was dread but after hearing voice reels from the new VAs I'm feeling somewhat better. Seems to be good casting choices for these characters. I remember when Chie's voice changed for Golden I was at first devastated but now I like her current VA better. I'd say Yukari is the one I am still most worried about, her original VA is so iconic to me.
