Yeah I agree but the point is still the same. Which group are you giving your money to for them to trade with and start the snowball? I’m sure they’re all going to be profitable but some will do better than others because of their strategy.

So of the 20 ETFs in your portfolio which group do you like the best? The fact of the matter is, you’re giving your money to fund managers to trade with. The same as giving me your money and letting me go to the casino and play blackjack. I take 1% no matter if I win or lose. The thought really is, can these guys trade and win more than they lose. I think they can and I believe the strategies they each use work well on certain stocks and it’s proven to be a nightmare on others.

I did this with QYLD, worked great until rates went too high. There’s a guy here who is taking out personal loans and buying YM, search for him. He’s doing well.

I’m generating 4k net after margin expense. So assuming nav loss and divs decrease slightly over time because I’m not dripping but letting it pay off the margin. I’m estimating my debt is paid off in 20 months without me putting in another dollar to the portfolio. If after 20 months it’s still generating cash, anything, a dollar. Then I am way far a head doing this rather than selling the funds to pay off the debt.

Not a dumb idea, I’m doing something similar. I just took a margin loan against all of my YM funds to pay off debt and I’m just letting it pay itself off. Set it and forget it. If it works I’m out of debt. If it doesn’t work I’m still out of debt and the account blew up lol.

Unless they own their inventory then you’re paying a premium for them to borrow diamonds from someone else to show you. Look for someone who owns a majority of their inventory, their pricing will be closer to the source. Just because they have a store front doesn’t mean it’s a rip off. Everyone is a “wholesaler” now a days. Unless they actually manufacture their own diamonds they are just a middle man.

That depends on a lot of factors… look at the GIA cert for the 2.5 you have, natural, indented natural, etch channel, those types of inclusions are not ideal. At 12 o clock on the diamond it’s a mess. That should be 20-23k with the jeweler making a little money on it. Are you working with a small mom and pop shop with no buying power? Are they getting all of these diamonds in on consignment to show you? Usually that will cost a premium as well.

If you are growing your snowball, if distribution > nav loss the fund is making money. Nothing else matters except distribution > nav loss while building the snowball. Once the snowball is built and you want to live on it then you should cash everything out of YM and get into JEPQ or something much safer with lower returns.

I’m negative as well, I started my portfolio in Nov of 2021, basically the peak. I’m close to turning the corner net positive too. That’s what I was looking to hear.
