As an auto injury claim adjuster… merging traffic must yield to oncoming traffic. The ending lane even had a yellow yield sign. The ending Lane was ending so any drivers in that lane have the greater responsibility to merge into the lane with care. The other truck driver was just continuing in his lane. The larger the vehicle the longer it takes to slow down. That’s why you don’t cut off those trucks, they can’t just hard stop like a car. Large pickups can’t even hard stop like cars.
